A couple of weeks ago we were talking about HIFU, the reason for ultrasound vs microwaves, and the power level required. Well, while working on my contract job I bumped into this place:

They make the transducers for HIFU and list the necessary drivers, all of which I have in my lab right now. Actually, I exceed all the requirements significantly.

So, if you decide to come to my place for the GFMPH weekend in 3 months, not only can you get a free colonoscopy broadcast on TV channel 19, a TENS treatment high enough to make your teeth hurt, and a low frequency infrasonic acoustic treatment strong enough to cause bowel movements in cattle, you can have a part of your body HIFU 'ed.

I can hear my wife now. "What's that smell? Are you cooking something down there or shall I call 911, again ?"

Here is another HIFU application you might be interested in... not actually heating tumors, just shaking them up. Here's a report on it from DUke Univ. from a couple years ago.

Sheldon, Quite frequently my wife is the "Designated Dialer" for some experiments. The woman is a saint.

Roger, I promise to use K-Y jelly. My scope is was better than the Uro's1. Smaller diameter, better lighting, higher resolution. He was able to inject saline into my bladder which is something mine cannot do. He also had lidocaine - I don't. That's why I'm not offering free cystograms in the package. ;-)

Hey Paul,
Where do you think you're heading? A third world country? We have plenty of water, toilets, toilet paper and pee pads. Can easily support a group of 80.
We have that many during our annual July 4th party - and half of them are shooting guns at our range. Haven't lost anyone yet. No problem. A bunch of prostateless funny guys is easy. I still smile when I think of last year. By the way, the Ingmar Bergman house is still up for sale.

I have added quite bit of equipment since the last time you were here. Fun toys. I'll see if I can slip a HIFU transducer in. We can always use it to cook the hamburgers.
