Patsuz,
I don't get it. Your partner is 43 years old and by your math you're not sure if you should spend $1,800 for a possible lifetime of erections?
I'm on a 1/4 viagra for 7 months now with great results. I purchased the generic from ADC and like others here on the site will tell you it's as good as the name brand. You can also get samples from your doctor to help defray some of your costs.
So spend .57 cents a pill or $20 a pill, or get some free samples and buy the rest, but in my mind no way should you think of this as optional.
Pogmothoin, THANK YOU for the post of the Memorial Sloan Kettering lecture (http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/94910.cfm). Dr Mulhall really seems to know his stuff. WHAT A GREAT LECTURE. There is a section were he outlines 2 years of viagra against a possible lifetime of erections for a 50 year old man explaining that the cost becomes about $100/year. Generic or name brand. .57 cents or $20 a pill the decision seems easy to me. Don't be "pennywise and pound foolish".
I had my surgery at Sloan Kettering and am following the 1/4 tablet (25mg) per day protocol my surgeon and Dr. Mulhall are advocating and I look forward to the 2 year mark when my erections come back like the good old days. I just turned 50 and I would not think twice about taking the ED medications.
To me, at 43 it's a NO BRAINER.
Best of luck,
Mike
