Husband experiencing pain- some reasons why?

hello and welcome. You first question seems incomplete. Do you mean With prostate cancer, why would the base of the penis or back behind the bone pelvic bone have pain, maybe? I am sorry he is in pain and wonder what stage in his journey he is in. Has he had any treatments, biopsies or testing up to now to establish where he is in his staging? Without more info, I don't think anyone here can answer your question with any certainty..sorry. How about posting back with more info about his situation?

Ok, he hasn't had a biopsy? What was his PSA test results? What circumstance told him he had prostate cancer? Who told him,? what counseling did he get as to his options to make his decision to not have any treatment? Who did this, a GP, Urologist, Oncologist, ETC?

Welcome, but as James is asking, you aren't providing enough information on your husband to even make a guess, let alone a good answer. Is there anyway you can fill in the holes here at bit? We would love to help you, or steer you in the right direction.

Duo, I am sorry to hear about your husband's pain. I'm curious as to the reason why he chose no treatment. I'm not questioning his decision, just wondering how and why he came to it.

From the little we know of your husband's situation, it does sound like he had a biopsy since your post states that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which would only come about through a biopsy. Can you share with us the results of that...for example, what was the Gleason score and stage at that time? If his PSA and/or Gleason score were very high at diagnosis, did he have any further tests such as a CT or bone scan? If so, what were the results of these? If his disease is advanced (and it might just be), what advice did the doctor or doctors give as to managing the disease and controlling the pain (assuming the pain is related to the disease)? If - and I stress the word "if" - the cancer has spread to his bones, it could certainly cause the pain you are describing but back pain has many causes. Would he be willing to submit to an xray or MRI of his back?

Many cancers can spread to the bones, and this can cause quite a bit of pain. But, without further tests and more information, there's just no way to know.
