Your wife is definitely correct! You're very creative with a great sense of humor, sick though it may be. I'm enjoying the heck out of this, and I wouldn't be surprised if Rex's writer was also... I think I can recruit a hundred or more additional viewers next week, if that will help persuade you.

I'm pretty sure the last time I heard the words "a bit lugubrious and torpid" my surgeon was holding my prostate in his hand.

Although, it could have been the sedatives talking.

I would think that part of "Healing Well" means doing the best with what you've got, and certainly maintaining and exercising a sense of humor is part of that. As is, of course, the cameraderie among us survivors and hopefully some day, Stu.

Now that Bronson kindly gave us the definitions, "mournful and physically inactive", I can see I was mistaken.
Clearly, the surgeon said it when he was holding my post RP pen*s, not my prostate.

Dick, the sleazy councilman: "Are you saying you don't have cancer, Stu? The rumor isn't true?"
Stu: "No! I'm saying it's nobody's business but mine! And when I find out how this "rumor" got started... my lawyers will have a field day...Dick!

Here's the 9/24 update
I know you think I skipped the last few days because of GFMPH weekend. Nope.
There was no point. I didn't update because ...nothing happened.

Stu is still "talking" to the car salesman/ councilman. Still want to know who told and the salesman wants to know if Stu has PCa. Blah bla blah.

Meanwhile, Pumpkin is makin' squash with the guy running for mayor, intent on replacing Stu in more ways than one.

(At least that's what it says in my paper.)

Sonny and Lynne are the perfect house guests. They don't just bring a gift, ... they bring a whole freaking house! That RV is AWESOME.
I'm afraid Mikey will have a severe case of RV envy.

Here's the 9/27 update

(In Stu's, (the mayor), office talking to the ever faithful Diane, his aide.)
Diane: "I heard it at the diner, Boss..., Everyone was talking about your prostate!"
Stu: "Unbelievable! And who told you, Diane?"
Diane: "about eight people asked me if I knew... I said I didn't!"
Stu: "How could this have happened? I just found out yesterday!"

Yesterday! Get that? This tread is 3 months old! Slowest comic in the world.....
Can't wait to see how long Stu's rehab takes...

Finally, someone with some common sense -- Stu's lovely travelling companion, Diane... I'd tell everyone what happened, but my paper doesn't carry the entire strip, as does Jeff's.

10/3, Time for an update... Well not really. You know what happened.
The Mayor's brilliant secretary, the faithful Diane, suggests he give an exclusive interview to the newspaper reporter. It will raise Prostate Cancer Awareness. Stu still wants to find out who leaked the info.
He decides to talk to Rex Morgan _{so called} MD, before he does.
In Rex's office waiting room a worthless constituent (but potential voter) complains about a traffic light and ends the conversation with:
"Don't worry, Mr. Mayor...You'll beat this cancer!"

Becka, aka The Rack, stares on in shock and disappointment. Sadly, her days of enjoying a little "Stu stew" during those annual physicals are numbered.

(At least that 's what is says in my paper.)

June: "Unfortunately, your prostate is a celebrity. Mr Mayor. But that doesn't have to be a bad thing."

June: "Women will be lining up to have a crack at what's left in the tank. And when it's gone, there will be no mess! Very desirable!"
Rex: "Stu, you still have your healthy body and dashing good looks. Dump Pumpkin and you can be makin' squash with abandon."
