Updated my profile: Had the result of my first post surgery PSA back @ <.1
Very much like to join the Zero Club going forward and appreciate all the advices and encouragements from all of you while going through surgery and recovery. The best advice I got from this forum was to find the best surgeon I was comfortable with (>1000 surgeries) instead of taking the HMO assigned surgeon who had not done too many prostate surgeries.
My advice to new members are the same: Read as many postings at this forum as you can. Do as much research as you can, read everything available and select the method you are comfortable with. PC is a very individualized cancer and only you and your doctor can decide what is best for you. And if you are selecting surgery, find the best surgeon available (or you are comfortable with) who has done many many many surgeries. Once you selected him, relax and let him do his job. I am convinced the skill of my surgeon has a lot to do with my outcome of minimal side effects.
