Tuesday Update from Surgeon's Office

David - I learned the weight equivalents after DaVinci when I tried to pick up the smallest pack of applesauce they had at Sam's - stopped me dead in my tracks. Turned out it was 4.8 pounds. Had to ask the girl passing by to put it in my cart.

At 56, I actually had to ask for help with my stuff to the car at the store. Then once home, had to get my neighbor to help carry the stuff upstairs.

ED is kid's stuff damage to one's morale in comparison to what I suffered that day.

Needless to mention I was shopping for applesauce - my morale was in the same ditch as my bowels.

 

Thursday Update

This was a day that my home nurse warned me about. Despite having a great nights sleep, spent the whole day fighting the Pain Gods. What hurts a lot is the now enclosed part of my surgery, where they cut apart the intestines, took out a section, put it back together, took out my appendix, built the new urinary conduit and tied in the two uterers from the kidney. The stoma and the incision really don't hurt.

So whole day was spent alternating loratab every six hours, with advil at the 3 hour marks, was not able to be off my feet much at a time.

I don't think anything is wrong, just another stage of the healing process. I lifted up a 1 1/2 liter of wine bottle from our pantry for my wife, and I swear it weighed 50 lbs, of course it didnt.

Still trying to reconicile a slow recovery of my body, while my mind is going 100% as normal wanting me to do things

sorry, total abstainer on my end for nearly 40 years, wine is for the wifey only.

its a day by day battle right now. good day, poor day, better day, back and forth

my official weight limit right now is 5 lbs max, pref less the doc said. no straining. as long as i keep getting dizzy on my feet, walking
is limited to normal house walking indoors.
