Rex Morgan, M.D. and PCa

They saved some ink today by colouring everything pink, apparently to celebrate National Cancer Awareness Month, and even put one of the little pink ribbon thingies in the final panel inscribed "Cartoonists Care". Stu relents, and will come out of the PCa closet, but it looks like Pumpkin could be in big trouble, as Stu, scowling darkly, expresses his desire for the leaker's head.

In the real world, some urologists lament that public awareness of breast cancer is so much higher than that of PCa, and speculate that that is simply because women worry about their health more than men do, but in fact more women die from breast cancer than do men from PCa (see below).

Some call for more PSA testing, while others call for less, and a recent academic study (BMJ online, Sep 14) recommends a single test at age 60 for most men (my PSA at age 60 was 1.9, for whatever that's worth). Curiously, this last view is that of a University of Florida researcher; UF is one of the few facilities in the US offering proton beam therapy for PCa. Look for more PSA conroversy and much more controversy over proton therapy as healthcare providers look for ways to cut costs.

Update: Just read that the New Hampshire Prostate Cancer Coalition is forecasting 217,730 diagnoses and 32,050 deaths from PCa for 2010, but I haven't been able to confirm this yet.

"Pumpkin" most likely spilled her seeds on 8/11 in the evening time.
It looks like the 90:1 time dilation rule still holds true. Yep! The slowest "comic" in the world....
Or maybe it is the fastest! Using the Lorenz factor predicted by Larmor in 1897 and further postulated by Einstein in 1905, Rex and the gang are moving at 0.9999382 c. _{(Yes. I'm embarrassed to say, I did figure it out.)}

Way back on August 12, or 1 trillion miles away if you are traveling at 0.999938 the speed of light, I predicted Rose told a trusted friend why she was sobbing. That trusted, well meaning, but misguided friend told the church pastor who added Stu to the prayer list thus setting in motion: Stu and Pumpkin's divorce, the intense physical therapy sessions with the ever faithful Diane, his reelection for Mayor running on the Prostate platform, and a final, pre-surgery, blowout weekend in Thailand, with a wheel of warm brie and the now 19 year old triplets, Lawan, Kanya, and Sukhon.

I'm just guessing here. I really don't know if he will be reelected.

Rose: "No! Who would do such a thing?"
Diane: "That is what we're trying to find out!"
Diane: "I thought you knew, Rose! Please don't tell him I told you!"
It ends with a closeup of Rose's concerned face. Her eyes emerald green, staring at Diane.
_{With closer inspection, do I detect "envy", "guilt", or a tiny bit of "lust"? No matter. Either way, Diane will not be Stu's assistant a year from now.}

Pumpkin is looking a little pale today ("I... I'm fine, Diane! Just a little tired!") as she learns of the leak and Stu's frame of mind ("OMG, how can I pin this on Diane?") and heads into Stu's office. Poor Pumpkin does indeed look tired. And old. And worn out. And guilty as heck. Diane, OTOH, is looking exceptionally pinnable in today's last frame, as she gets rid of Pumpkin and returns to her Rosetta Stone Phasa Thai lesson of the day.

But Rose is already scooting out the office door, ready to find her lawyer and see if the pre-nup still stands - if so, this brightly coloured member of the gourd family (genus Cucurbita and the family Cucurbitaceae -which also includes gourds) will be selling matchsticks at the corner of Main and Filmore at Christmas time ( which should be, in our time, April 15, 2022)

OK, something _has_ to happen by tomorrow. This is taking forever. I'm guessing that Morgan's patient for today is Rose's gigolo, and that's how he found out.

Good guess, but only if he's doing a 3-way with Stu's daughter, who TEXTED (emphasis theirs) Graham's (Rex has another patient, it turns out) daughter, who told Graham (and probably every other teenager on her Facebook wall), who told Rex. What a tangled web... can't wait for Jeff's paper's extra detail!

10/24 update

Did anyone here notice that the new patient's name is Graham? Note the artist's name is Graham Nolan. Think it is a coincidence? I don't. An awful lot of names could have been used before "Graham" comes to mind. Look at the guy. Same glasses, same shaped head. I think it's a self-portrait! I'm betting he's coming out of the PCa closet.

Since you pointed it out, I have been closely studying the details of this
Power Girl art, looking for similarities with Becka, the Rack. I just don't see it, yet. More study is needed.
