This sucks part 2........

I know, it's f'd up man. I know.

I had my 1st rad session today, and others here talking about bubble farts or something being a possible result.

Waiting for customs to let my ER pill get through since the legally require insurance dont cover this "recrational" drug, even as the surgeon who sliced me up says I need it.

I only have to carry a few diapers around, in case.. because I worked my arse off trying to regain control. Now radiation is likely to set everything back.. just in case it helps me live a little longer. I was taught to stay away from radiation.

Tough to keep stuff off your mind when every friggen turn is another nightmare. I know.

BUT THEN AGAIN! YOU SAID IT BEST "Wife and son are here for me". They gotta be worth trying trying trying as best you can! YOU NEED TO BE THERE FOR YOUR WIFE AND SON!

To start,  I have a 2008 Volvo C30 which I absolutely love.  Got it right after my LRP in March of 08.  Started radiation in September 2009 for three months. In November of  this year I began Hormone Therapy (three month injections of zoladex here in Canada).  Each treatment has it's drawbacks and... setbacks,  but it certainly hasn't changed my life because I choose not to allow that to happen.  Some things are just different but they definitely beat the other option of sitting around waiting for things to worsen.  I believe exercise, proper rest and diet have worked for me.  These have kept my attitude positive and I also feel that is key to quicker recovery.  Sure,  I get really down at times but then I kick myself in the a--  a few times and I'm almost good as new.  Keep thinking positive thoughts and do something rather than sitting around feeling sorry for yourself, as occasionally I catch myself doing.  I've been through a lot of this "stuff" already  and am sure there will be more yet to come. I'm waiting for the side effects of HT to set in if any are lurking down the road.  So..."Pad up" and get out there and start detailing those cars.  They need you if weather is anything like here in Canada right now.

Hopefully you.will reach point in your recovery that you will discover that laying around being pissed off and on, really gets you nowhere. As bad as it may seem, we don't have to look very far to find folks with a whole lot worse situations than us.

For one we have had a lot of good years to enjoy, and most likely will have a few more, at least statistically it says so. Think of those who were born with birth issues that have never had the opportunity to run, see ,or hear, or do the things we have done. I find for myself that it makes me feel a little less put out.

Think of those who don't have a wife or family to help them through these times. That really would suck.

Think of those in third world countries who don't have the access to health care that we do, and first of all don't live much beyond 40, and if they did would just die of PC, never knowing they had it, just dying a slow painful death.

Just read more of the posts hereof guys who are going through some really tough trials, at young ages. Read the post about Willie.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it doesn't suck. But you've still got a lot of living to do. Go work on your cars. Take someone with you, and go fix the fence. Supervise.

I am a Gleason 9. Many guys onn here are Gleason 8 or 9. Life does go on. It took me 8 months to stop leaking. I wore a clamp for a couple of months so that I could climb up on cranes and equipment and repair them. We just do what we have to do.

Don't let this SOB get you down. It ain't over til it's over. Make sure you tell those you love that you do. Take another sniff at the roses. Watch the sunsets a little longer. Enjoy life. Life is good, every last second of it.

Chill out for a while and just think of recovering from the surgery. I highly recommend walking or any other kind of exercise. Avoid caffeine, acidic drink and spicy foods and do pelvic floor exercises. continence will come back with time. It took me 4 months before I stop wearing a pad. Try to tackle one problem at a time, there are many on this forum who have had similar pathology reports who are fighting back. Good luck.

Sorry about your luck. It does suck but we play the hand we are dealt. I was 42 at the time of my dx. Psa over 3200.00. Glad you found us though. I am torn really. I never had the chance at a cure. Surgery was not an option. Sorry your peeing in your pants. I wish I had at least had the opportunity to give surgery a chance. They told me it was a death sentence. They gave me a year. I am 47 now and I have fired 3 different doctors. I have metastasies in my bones lungs and lymph system. I dont wet my pants. I never have. My little guy doest work without meds but the meds do work. I wish I had other options but dude now is not the time to be a cowboy. You will do whatever it takes to be there for your family as long as possible. Get right with yourself and get your head on straight. It may suck to wet yourself and need a diaper but I pray to God ever day that I live long enough to need a diaper. Todd
