No injections for me

Went to see my uro yesterday to see if it time to start ED meds or injections.  I am 3 months post RRP have control of bladder but no erections yet. useing the pump with good results ...  He will not start me on any meds yet. I want to be more aggressive in the rehab of Mr. Willy!  Is there anyplace to get caverject without my uro's prescription like you can get the others from alldaychemist?

I'd find another urologist. Seriously.

Nope, the injections are made from regulated drugs, so no pharmacy will compound or dispense them without a doctors prescription. I suggest finding another doctor, even a GP or Family Practioner may be willing to do it. Also, looks for any Sexual Health practices around you. Worse case , change uro's if you really feel strongly enough about it.

Talk about doctors have differant opinions. I just got my cathiter out yesterday and my doc gave me 20 viagra tablets and said lets get things working here. Take one every other day and let me know how it goes.

I think I like my doctor's way of doing things.

When my catheter was removed my doctor gave me samples and a Cialis prescription. Told my wife and I to at least try before my next visit.

My uro is real aggressive. He started me on 5mg Cialis daily about 1 month before surgery. Now he has me on BIMIX 2-3 times a week, a pump twice a day and I am still taking the 5mg of Cialis daily. The Cialis never stopped other than for the two days I was in the hospital.

I had to find a different Uro to get started on injections. Wish I had done it sooner.

Try to find a dedicated ED specialist. What city are you near maybe a member can refer you to one ?

Good call MrGimpy. A fellow member sent me a note one day when I was looking for a Dr to help me out. The member sent his number to me and talk to be about this Dr. Called the Dr. office and the rest is history. First big step to getting Jr back in the ballgame.

So Natural if you would put you location info you may get some help. I also opened an e-mail in my profile for guys to reach me with info.

Thanks guys for the help! I am in Tulsa, OK. I fired the Uro that did my surgery because when I went into his office 2 weeks after surgery secondary to a small infection at the incesion site....He did not know who I was or anything about me and was a real ASS. He told me then to talk to him in a year if I had bladder control issues or ED problems but that he wouldnt do anything for me in less than a years time!

I found another Uro in that same (very large) group, went to him because his bio says his specialty is ED. He is about as nonresponsive to me as the first Dr. He did write a script for the Osbon pump and gave me a weeks supply of 2.5mg cialis.... Everyone I know that has used this group is very unhappy with them but it is only group in Tulsa.

Yes they do! I called my insurance provider and they tell me that if i want to go out of network I have to get a referal from one of the specialists I am seeing to go to a different Dr. in same specialty. I am afraid if I do that they will not want to see me again in that group if I ever need anything as far as care locally. And will end up havin g to travel an hour plus away for all my Uro needs to Oklahoma city or out of state.

I strongly recommend you make the one hour plus drives. It will be worth it. Unfortunately, in the past my wife and I have had to deal with some @@#s##ole doctors. We have learned the hard way, find another one immediately and fire the bad one. If we were still seeing the same Internist that we went to several years ago, my PC would not have been caught until it was too late.

Sounds like you're in a bind with that group. You might try tracking down a compounding pharmacy that provides trimix/bimix and ask if they can give you the names of a couple urologists that send them prescriptions.

natural44, I notice this large urological group has 2 different locations. Maybe looking at the other location, the South Yale Ave. one, which contains only 3 doctors, Confer, Confer and Brookover would be more suitable, it being a smaller office? Also, there's Drs Gill and Johnson on s. Jackson Ave. who are listed as erectile dysfunction specialists, as well as urologists according to medicinenet.com. Can't hurt to call around and see. S0ome of the web based medical reference sites can get it wrong, so check Gill and Johnson to be sure they are some kind of specialist in Urology and ED. That'd be the best of both worlds.

All of those doc are now in the one big group together but johnson who is retired.....I did hear from a friend who said that milsten in that group is more aggresive so may try him out
