Truth be told, while I haven't posted much in the last four months, I do look in occasionally and follow the conversations.

Thought you folks would like to see this latest study. It appeared in my local paper today.

A comment on that yahoo post sums it up for me:
"Dead or cataracts. I'll take the cataracts."

Compared to the other serious side effects of ADT (or its equivalent that I prefer not to think about), a 9% increased risk of cataract is very minor, and very treatable anyway.

Must be a quiet time in the newsroom :-)

Hmmm,
I finished up my 8 months of Lupron on 6/30/10. I had cataract surgery on 8/6/10. But ... I see better now than I have for the last 20 years. Gained plenty of weight, but not obese, and no diabetes. Go figure.

Had cataract surgery 10 years before prostate surgery. A piece of cake, relatively speaking, was awake during the whole thing. The tiny scalpel appeared as a giant shadowy thing floating above me. Of course, it's something you'd want to avoid if you can. Have to get used to wearing glasses for reading if you don't already.
