Hello Ed!,

Congratulations!!! Lovely to hear the very good news.Nothing like new life to bring joy to the world.

Paul is looking completely like himself again and is back to a full five day week after doing 4 days a week for some time.
He will be doing a 3 month PSA test next week and has also baselined his PSA with another laboratory on the suggestion of his doctor.
Like you, we are now starting to think less and less about PC. This is partly because my new job has been much more demanding than I thought, this week I have done 70 hours + of work. My husband is just much more relaxed about it too. One thing that is happening is that he will be going to the sexual health physician to work out what he can do to get his 90% natural erection to become 100%.

Hope the rest of the gang is doing well.....

Just a quick note.  The rehab therapist is having him do arm exercises now.  I was hoping someone would read up on the pelvic floor exercises.  The therapist uses the rectal exam approach to measure the progress being made and how his Kegals are going.  Maybe this has to do with his age?  I am not brave enough to start a thread or ask elsewhere about this type of rehab.

I will say some of the 'stuff' can apply to an aging women's body! smhair   We still haven't had intercourse yet, but refuse to believe this will be gone forever.  ED is still there.  Also, the leakage has cut down, but still exists.

Yes, it is true.  There are many things in life that are special once a person has had cancer.  So glad the anxiety has been relieved for now.   It is good to read this thread!

Hi Aimzee, An and Ed,

Nothing new to report, just wanted to say hello and  let you you know I still check in from time to time to see how you all are doing.  Though I don't post much any more I still think about all of you and love hearing how things are going.  Can't believe it's been 3 months-give or take a few days-since we were all so intensely focused on the surgery and healing.  This thread, and especially you three, were my lifeline.

Hi Guys,

We don't celebrate thanksgiving here in Australia but it's a lovely idea and certainly we have a lot to be thankful for.
I'm going to go through the list:
1) That the surgery is over, the margins were negative and the cancer volume was small
2) That against all odds we found the cancer and did something about it
3) That Paul is back to good health, full strength and is lucky to be continent
4) That we have found the strength to deal with the situation
5) That we found the Healing Well site and especially you Aimzee, Ed and Renee. I can't overstate how important this was for us .....

Aimzee, I hope the pelvic floor exercises are going well. And that the scrotal pain is gone for good.
Renee, I think about you guys often too! How is the boat activity going?
Ed, I hope you are enjoying your new grandchild and are not working too hard.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.  You 3 are also the ones who helped me through all of this.  This site and especially this thread and you guys have been my "go to" place.  It was a wonderful Thanksgiving at our house and we plan many, many more.  No tests or appoimtments until after the Holidays and I am very glad for that.  I hope the best for every one of you.  Thanks for being here for me.

Merry Christamas and great New Year for all of us.  I went for my second PSA Ffriday and should get the results today.  I am hoping for good news so life can keep moving forward as it has been for me since recovering from sugery.  I am completely continent now, still have some ED issues.  Good luck to all of you and Thanks

Paul is also completely continent (in fact he probably urinates a little easier now than before the surgery). Still some ED issues.

Good luck Ed with the PSA, I'm sure it will be fine.

Hi Ed!  I hope your PSA is nothing but zero.

Hi again, An!  Ron is also completely continent which is good.  Still a problem with the ED issues, but that's not on his mind now. 

As posted elsewhere,  Ron had the cyst removed from inside his testicle; it was embedded in tissue.  And it was drained and cauterized - no cancer.  Ron is not doing well.  He says it is the worse pain he's ever experienced and he can barely walk.

I don't know if there is a thread with advice on how a wife can handle her husband's pain.  He was on the verge of tears, and I cried.  This was supposed to help but I think the healing process takes time.  He is to wear a scrotum support and it is very tight.

Feeling helpless is an awful feeling.

I hope all the guys are doing well!  Ron's PSA will be delayed until the end of February.  Take care everyone!

Must be absolutely dreadful to see Ron this way.
I think you need to explain the severity of the situation to your doctor, call his office and say its urgent. If he cannot understand how difficult the situation is for Ron, you need to find someone who speacialises in pain management. No one should be in excruciating pain in this day and age for any length of time.

Aimzee, you also need to look after yourself. I have been seeing a counsellor, the events of the last year have been quite overwhelming, and I found it helps. I have also tried to relax through massage and meditiation and for me that helps.

I have been lurking all along but haven't posted in a while. 

Aimzee-I'm so sorry to hear that Ron is in so much pain.  I had missed where you posted about his cyst and just went through the posts and read about it today.  Don't know what to say except that I feel so bad for you both and hope he gets some relief soon!

Ed-Best of luck with the psa test.  Geoff just went for his today-he never worries-I always do.

An-I was really happy to see that Paul's latest tests were the same as the last ones-I know that must be a huge relief for you. 

The three of you are always in my thoughts.

Hi Renee,

Yes we were really pleased that Paul's PSA stayed flat. I too think about how Aimzee, Ed and you are doing very frequently.

I wish Geoff all the best for his PSA test.

Ed, I wish you all the best for yours too.

Aimzee, let us know whether Ron has had any success with his pain control. It's just not right for him to suffer.
