Had the ed injection today

The nurse was very nice and showed me what to do.
She dialed in 2.5 of caverject then watched me inject, it really wasnt that bad.
After about 5 mins I got maybe a 30-40% erection I would say.
She told me in future to increase the drug in increments till I get the correct dosage for a full erection.

The drug itself did cause quite a bit of ache pain so I'm a bit concerned that the nearer I get
to the correct dose, the worse the ache will be.

Any thoughts?
Should I ask for a different drug?

I'm on Trimix, not sure what the difference is, but it is injected.  The first time the doctor gave me the injection it really ached pretty badly.   He said the ache would ease with use, and indeed it has.  I still have the ache, but it's not enough to interfere with the process, if you know what I mean.  Increasing the dose does increase the ache but, again, it lessens with time.  Not sure if that's because I get used to it or it really aches less, but it doesn't matter.  The issue is, does it ache enough for me to keep from using it?  And, in my case at lease, the answer is no.

Hi Mike,

I used Caverject for 3 and 1/2 years prior to surgery and you get used to the ache and accept it as normal, also i think you will have someone else there that may distract you from the ache so do not worry about it.

My advice is to experiment with the dosage till the strength of the erection is suitable for use, yet not that hard that it aches. After some trial and error i adjusted my dosage to suit our needs and time available, as obviously a higher dose does last longer and many a time i have had to give in and get up as "something" got in the way of me getting to sleep, though after reading posts in here i was suprised to find that Sudafed can help minimising the erection afterwards.

I should get the prescription some time next week.
I plan to inject twice weekly, is that OK do you think?

I recently started useing Caverject and I am happy to report that I experience absolutely no pain associated with my use of the product. My first injection of .25cc resulted in an erection that lasted approximately 30 minutes. The second injection of .25cc lasted approximately 1 hour. My third injection of .25cc lasted approximately 2 1/2 hours. Not sure why the erections are increasing in length although the amount injected remains the same.

Spottydog: I'm sure twice-weekly will be fine. As far as I know, that is the recommended maximum for most injectables, although I'm sure some horny devils do more :-)

Rjih: It's good that you have no pain with Caverject. I wouldn't read too much into the lengthening of erection time -- next time it may be shorter again. If you haven't already tried it, try the pre-plumping technique with or without constriction (discussed in numerous other threads) -- many of us here find it helps to give consistent results.
