Today marks the 6 weeks' anniversary of my RRP. So, I begin 20 mg of Cialis tonight, as well. What are do's and don'ts, e.g. drinking liquid, eating, how soon should I take it before "bed" time, what should I expect, etc. This is all new to me, and I've not had an erection or any semblance thereof since surgery. Thanks in advance, and much appreciation.

While Cialis still works best on mostly empty stomach, you can eat and drink normally and take it. BUT take it before dinner...then it is in your blood stream and you are ready to go anytime.

Do NOT expect results for a while. Just take it and see what happens.

The big thing all the Cialis docs stress is not to mix with a lot of alcohol, which they define as five drinks.

I get a mild lower back pain from the 5mg daily dose.

I remember my first time taking meds for ED, you feeling like a kid waiting to open Christmas presents, but unfortunately for me the present did not arrive at first, be prepared to take it over several days before it starts kicking inn. You need also to set the scene and get your mind clear of your intentions, if you know what I mean. Dont expect the tablet to be a silver bullet, certainly was not and still is not for me. It only works if you want it to work, if that makes sense.

ps you may also play around with the dosage, to reduce flushes. I find a quarter of a 100ml tab, daily does the trick after about a week or so.

While some experience results within 30 minutes, I've found Cialis doesn't take effect for a few hours. Many have muscle pain side effects, but usually nothing severe. I cut the 20 mg tablets in half. It is not a silver bullet. I don't know of anyone who's had "an erection lasting over four hours."

Kev has a point, none of the meds "raise the dead" unless you go the shots route. The general consensus is that just looking is no longer enough -

Each of us unique. Our physiology is different.  What works for me may not work for you.  So the experiences of others can be irrelevant to you.  Keep that in mind.

I have no negative side effects from Cialis.  Sometimes it helps get me somewhat hard, almost like "before" and other times it does little good.  I've taken it with alcohol and without and don't think it matters much for me. 

Don't buy into a proposal that only shots do the job for you - get you the illusive erection.  Nobody can say that with a confidence that applies to each of us equally.

I think the best information comes from our physicians.  If you don't have one you can trust then find another.

In the early stages like six weeks - I started taking the pills right before bed in an effort to get blood to flow through mr pee wee and help keep him alive. Getting an errection wasn't on the radar.

My statement may have been over-interpreted.

I have seen many posters who comment that the meds (meaning Cialis, Viagra, and Levitra) help, but that most now need a bit of extra stimulation. Thus my comment that you should not expect a pill to cause a spontaneous woody. I hope that I am wrong, but approach it with reasonable expectations.

The shots act differently, and may.

Taking the meds early on is to get circulation moving, and as Steve said, some of us take them for primarily that reason.

Mavica, you mention "I think the best information comes from our physicians" in my experience the Uro is not a lot of help ED. He started talking implant way early in the game and that really turned me off.

Took first pill last night. Had minor face flushing and stuffiness. Otherwise, nothing. Thanks for the posts as I'll try to be more patient; got nothing to lose.
