AUS Activation is March 9th at Cleveland - questions on how to prepare?

confused  My AMS 800 Activation is Mar 9th at Cleveland Clinic - 3.5hr drive from home which I will do in morning.

I have initial review 10:30 with Activation 11:30

My surgery was outpatient so it was slam blam - overnight and out the door before 7:00 AM the next day.

I only contact I had since then was hospital calling asking how I was.

Getting a Letter to go back to work and setting up an appointment for March 9th.

March 9th is there anything I should do to prepare for the activation ?

Drink lots of water 1hr or 2 hrs before?

Should I call the surgeon and ask what he wants me to do?

Your advise would be appreciated.

Good luck in March. I would have thoguht your doc would have given you any special instructions for preparing for the activation, if any were needed. A call to his office might answer your questions. The AMS guys here will probably have more to offer.

It should be a great day. Really nothing to prepare for that I can suggest. It should only take a few minutes. Just write down any questions you have. I always seen to forget and then think of them after. The doc will activate by squeezing the SIDS of the bulb. Mine did not even show me how to deactivate. She said no need but the directions are available from.
I think you followed my threads so you have read my experience. Yours should be no different.
Give us a follow up tomorrow.

That's where I went for my AUS surgery, etc. Going home after surgery, my instructions were to pull down on the pump every day to insure it settles in the correct position in the scrotum and to NOT push the button or bulb. When I went back for activation, there were no advance instructions. In fact, after my doctor examined me, incision, etc. I was told to go find something to drink and come back in an hour for activation and training. That was it.

I have read here where some actually drank liquids before the appointment to insure there being urine when it was time to activate, but I didn't.

Anyway, I live in South Carolina so it is an 11 hour drive. My doctor even told me I could go to my urologist at home for activation if I didn't want to make the trip.
