PSA Frequency Test

What is recommended PSA frequency test (after one year of undetectable PSA after PSA removal)?

Well, each doctor (and patient) is different. Mine wanted every 3 months the first year, every 6 mts. the second year and around every 9 months the third year, then yearly, if the psa remained zero. Be interesting to see what others say.

I was tested every three months for the first year and now on six month check-ups. I just had my 3 year check-up yesterday and the doctor said see you in six months. I didn't ask him about a yearly check-up. To be honest, if he put me on a yearly check-up, I would go every 6 months anyway.

Sharp, before surgery, my husband was told PSA every 3 months for the first year, then every 6 months for years 2 through 4, then annually. After surgery, when his surgical path showed EPE, his surgeon wanted to test PSA every 3 months for the first two years. John (my husband) is now on semi-annual PSA tests, and should move to an annual test starting in year 5.

Every month before surgery, every 3 months post so far.

3 months first year. 6 months second year as long as it stays zero. Yearly at 3 years.

He will also write an order upon request if I get anxious. So far I haven't asked.

that's my goal, get to the yearly and have a doc that will give me one whenever I get anxious.

I'm going to have my second post-op PSA in a few weeks so I have a long way to go.
