Epstein agreed with the Gleason 6. It was the final pathology where it was upgraded to a 3 + 4. I still have to update my signature with the final pathology report.

Congratulations, Diamonds' DH (Dear Husband)!

My husband's Gleason score also went up to 7 (3+4).  This happened to several men in the August and October Surgery threads.  It should present no problems.  Good luck with your healing!

It was exactly 13 weeks from my DX on 1/21/2011 to my first post-op PSA test of <0.1 on 04/22/2011

It seems like it was a lot longer than 13 weeks….

happy to hear your PSA test came back undetected.. you and I share close to the same pathology, but mine wasn't sent to Dr Epstein. I'm pretty nervous waiting another 7 weeks for my first postop PSA. congratulations on getting a good report. I wish you the best!

Truth be told I wasn’t worried about it too much (although I kept drinking pomegranate juice daily and sprinkling milled flax seeds on my oatmeal) until my blood was drawn last Friday. Then I started obsessing about it. Yesterday, when the results hadn’t arrived in the mail I called the lab and had them fax the report over. The problem was that the fax kept failing right before the PSA part of the report. That was torture!

With sincere appreciation to everyone that responded….

Coincidental to me receiving my first post-op PSA test results my wife received a call at home from my surgeon yesterday saying that there is a new pathology test to determine the chance of recurrence with more accuracy. As my slides were sent to Epstein he needed them sent back to Penn Hospital if I wanted that test done. I was not at home when he called so I have no further details. Since he’s in surgery all day on Fridays and then he does rounds with those patents until the evening I will not find out anymore until next week.
