update

Hi Guys,
Well I saw my onco doc after my somewhat discouraging psa of 3.34 and he said lets just wait and see. I told him that another onco doc in vegas said he would have me on the lupron to keep my testosterone level down as well as the daily d.e.s. He said it may just be a p.s.a. bounce and to not worry. He then handed my wife and I a list of new treatments and said that I have a lot of bullets left in the gun. I am still thinking about retiring from my job as a pipefitter/welder and enjoying life. I only need 40 more posts to be a veteran member. I will be around. Todd

p.s. My signature needs some updating. I am now 47 years old it has been 5 years since my D.X. My current p.s.a. is 3.34 and I am still doing excellent

You have no idea how many people you have inspired, Todd. When I get new members to my live support group I make sure they hear stories about advanced guys doing well. Most are very happy to hear these stories and they get right down to working on being a survivor.

Todd I want you to rock with the Baird Creek forever or until you get blisters on your fingers (LOL). Just a heads up my friend, DES should give you a pretty low T level by itself. I has done so in my case for many years and none of the side effects, that they claim are not from Lupron the drug, but because of those lower 'T' levels. So, I question things as usual.

Don-  how do you like being with a less than informed doctor??? Think he has any biases on estrogenic drugs????   Ask Todd about his Rx, you heard from me before. 

I can tell you I go intermittently and on-off as I feel and has worked well thus far.  Went off back in Jan. for like 6 weeks, psa did rise significantly (of course 6+ yrs. of using this drug now), went back on it and the last 5 months all declining Psa's...which even I can hardly believe. I occassionally through in different additives once in a while:  boron, silymarin, artemesinin,  D3 vitamins...types of things...usually not to often. Just enough to play change up and maybe it helps, I don't know for fact.  I look at even novel therapies because I would like to consider such before going to $5000 a month protocols to help some s.o.b. or drug mfg. cashin on PCa patients. That is what is going on:

Abiraterone and Leukine or Revlimid can cost around  $5000 per month each...but it is all about best care for the patients. Still likely worth doing although we are constantly being ripped off by the big fish.  They probably enjoy our $$$$ pain level.

If it were me I'd quit my job, but then again I'm always looking for a reason to quit my job and become a "professional retiree" :D
