Typical ED recovery time

Some guys are really quick back in the saddle, Others take a year. Dr said that what I would have a the 2 year mark would be what it is. Well I have improved after the 2 year mark. Still not perfect but much better. I do think that moving to injections which made Jr wake up a bit what the best thing that I did for getting Jr back in the game.

I believe that everyone here deserves to do whatever one can do to help/expedite/sexual function.

First,adhere to dr.s prescribed ed meds i.e viagra, cialis, whatever.

As an unwilling member of this pca club, I found that cruising some outrageous por. site sites has been very helpful. Real raunchy stuff, I wouldn't consider visiting if not in the situation I'm in now. We all unofficialy have a license to do this, for whatever term it takes to work out.

Find what turns you on in the privacy of your own home. And yes, I am very happily married, but working some of this BS out by myself, and really learning to let go again, has required me to take things into my own hands so to speak. This will prepade you for the re-introduction to your partner (if you have one).

I was recieving rock solid erections , without drugs, the day the catheter was removed, but only with continual manual stimulation.  As soon as the manual stimuli stopped, so did the erection.

At about the two year mark post surgery, I started waking up every morning with nocturnal erections, but after a few seconds of being awake, the erection dies.

Now at 4 years post op, I can actually feel some slight tingling down there with just visual or mental stimulation, if I really concentrate.  I can not get anl erection from mental stimulation alone as I could prior to surgery, but at least I can feel something down there, and  if I add a little manual stimuli , I am rock solid and ready to go for hours.

At 4 months from surgery,I couldn't poke a hole through wet toilet paper until yesterday. While beating it like it owed me money,a little angry it seemed to get. Maybe I'm on to something.

I am just shy of 9 months post RRP surgery nerve sparing, the injections made all the difference in the world in my recovering thus far I believe. Once I started the injections I noticed a slight responce to the oral meds in that i have nocturnal erections on nights i take the oral meds that are only about 30-40% firm but better than nothing. I can beat it like a step child and get 90-100% just last few days with no meds, however without constant stimulation still for now at least....it goes down fairly quickly...but the process as a whole is improving much faster now at the 6-9 month mark and post stating injections....also I used and still use the VED daily since cath out at one week post op.

Encore ImpoAid Manual for $78 is one a bunch of the guys here have, that works well, is medically approved and safe, with relief valves and such. Any of the pumps up to about $150 are well made, medical grade, safe and easy to use, unless you have bad hand dexterity problems.

Don't discount the injections, once you prick you won't go back...or something like that. It's really a whole bunch of nothing to worry about.

I was sorta worried about the first injection and found out it was alot about nothing....more pressure really than sharpness to the sensation...and I have found out that the more you "plump" prior to injection the less the sensation of the needle is anyways.....and the response I have had since the injections...WOW I can not praise the use of this stuff enough for the obvious effects and the "side effects" of speeding the recovery up without the injections......

Guys, can we raise the descriptions of some of our rehab acts a little further out of the gutter or locker room? Be creative, not necessarily vulgar, ok? We have a very wide range of people here, some of who may be offended with some of the more crass descriptions. Thanks

I was 1 week after you with Ralp, needles don't sting like a bee, don't aim for a vien and sex should not be a night of dread!!! dam it man don't hang up your boots just yet.

Frustrating yes, but not by any means a lost cause. We are both still in early days of recovery, my Uro has explained to me it's best to use needles now if pills don't provide a full erection. He said VED will only fill vesseles outside body and penis needed to be filled for entire lenght. I have injected 4 times with varying results, but I am taking it slow. I am on aprostotil or something, away from home now so haven't got bottle, it's a uni mix not tri or a bi mix. Costs $70 for 10ml and will use .3ml per dose so not to bad. Started at .1 and worked up  he said 3 times a week, and see how it goes. Anyway erection feels better than with rings etc. and it does not need stimulation, it works anyway, who knows may not be for ever, so if your Uro says ok go for it, obviously it is not to early to try cause mine says he has had some very promising results with early stimulation if pills not effective,  sounds like you have nothing to loose, so don't worry. best of luck

The Inj therapy for me has been very effective. I have also been using the BD Inject-Aide which makes it close to a foolproof process. Perfect aim and never once did I feel a thing. I use 30 guage syringes. My cost was $64 delivered packing in ice packs for a 5ml vial of full strength Trimix. The Uro gave me the auto-injector, syringes were covered by my Ins. Alcohol wipes are cheap at any drug store

To Viperguy, My Dr told me that at 2yrs the stretched nerves from nerve sparing Robotic RP should be as healed as they are going to get. For the most part he is correct but at 2 1/2 years post op I do find more unaided erections as time continues to pass. By unaided I mean no injections and no ED meds at all

I had been using Trimix since the 5th month post op sometimes 3 times a week, Now I still have a vial from December and use it only once in a while, it still works being in the fridge all that time

I was just reviewing some of my links and cam across a doctor's comment concerning recovering our sex life. I really like the term 'outercourse" as this is the first step that we always recommend to guys, to relearn their sexuality and sensitivity, to adapt to their new sexual situation. Closeness, sharing, etc. are all an important part of helping to rewire the brain after all our nerves have been stretched, bruised and helps us to get the new signals understood and acted upon by the brain.
