After lots of anxiety looking at over a week to get in, persistence paid off this morning. I was able to get squeezed into a 3pm CT scan today. Relieved because I'll now get some hard data sooner, but scared out of my wits what that data will show. Anyone reading this, please send some positive energy my way? I will keep the board posted - so many have been so kind already to respond and offer conversation. My good thoughts are with each and every one of you - God bless you.

I did the same thing as you Leroy... I had a CT scan done prior to RRP even though the Dr. said it really was not indicated. I had to know that there was no big cancerous mass sitting inside me that they would find when the Dr. opened me up for prostate removal. I was scared to death! Needless to say there was nothing on the CT scan but maybe a few diverticuli and a calcium deposit/ kidney stone ?? BUT>>>>the CT scan made me feel better about going ahead witht the rest of treatment. So I feel your agony, but it will all be OK! Keep you and your family in my prayers and thoughts......

Let's hope that "you've wasted your time" - and that this gives you a good "clean" baseline.

@ corvetteman - used to have a perfect 66 roadster - made a big mistake letting go of it, but I also had a 67 GTO, and loved that even more! Long story, but basically my sister ended up with the Corvette and couldn't drive the stick, so she gave it to me! I couldn't afford the insurance on both - oh well. Sold it for $1250 back then, in maybe 1970?

My wonderful wife on her way home to go with me, then off to a proton "group" at Loma Linda to meet some people tonight.

@ Sag. - I'm a Sag, too - Nov. 30. Watched the video, not sure what to make of it. Hoping obviously for a "no spread" outcome. Wish my urologist was as clear in his dialogue. Even if he had shown me that video I would choose to do the scan, just for the extra info. But he referred me for it from the start? If I qualify for proton and that's where I choose, then they probably do another anyway?

Anxiety clicking upward - need to have my second milkshake in a few, then drive down to get my pictures taken.

Leroy,

I had one CT before surgery, then two more before adjuvant RT. There should be a limit, and we are likely getting too much radiation, but then if you fight too much, you become a problem patient.

Some RT equipment now literally does a "mini-ct" every day as part of the treatment.

Finally a chance to post a good update! Through some persistence plus divine providence I not only had my CT scan today, but also got the results back from the radiologist. Except for some arthritis, nothing on the screen showed anything of concern. I finally feel like I have some ground under my feet. Thank you to all who replied, and to those whose battles prevented a reply. Within each of us lies the power to ease the other's path, and I hope as we travel this one together, we can each lend support to our travels.
