are you having robotic surgery or open surgery? that could make a big difference in your recovery time. also, depends what physical shape you are in, and what other medical issues you may or may not have going on in your life. sounds like you are use to doing hard physical work, so hopefully that will work in your favor after surgery. best wishes to you.

My two bits:  I'm an office worker, so getting pounded around on heavy equipment wasn't an issue. But, there is a lot of healing that needs to go on around where your prostate used to be - and there is, or was for me, a period of time when sitting was uncomfortable and included a very weird feeling.  Because of the nature of your work, 6 weeks would seem the minimum time needed to be safe.  Remember, your bladder is trying to figure out its new environment and will need the benefit of a well-healed re-attachment of the urethra to be successful.

thanks guys, it will be robotic and I didn't think so much about the bladder and internal stitching, just the gonads ha. I guess time will tell, just wandered about swelling and inflamation. ya'll are awesome
