SRT, exercise, and psa testing

A quick question. I finished SRT 3 months ago. 2 weeks later psa dropped from 0.08 to 0.05. I am due for a test this week. I exercise a few times per week (weights and bike). It would seem to me if radiation worked, getting tested within 24 hours after exercising should not make a difference. However, is it possible that exercise increases adrenal testosterone production which could elevate psa falsely?

Any drop in PSA after SRT is a sign that the target was hit and hopefully condemned the remaining cancer cells to their death.

Since you no longer have a prostate, exercising should not effect your PSA.

That's a good drop in 2 weeks, and I would view it as an encouraging sign at this point in your journey. Good luck as you continue forward.

My regular doctor made some comment about my activities affecting my PSA level. When I pointed out that I didn't have a prostate anymore he obviously reflected a moment and agreed nothing I did should affect PSA. The exception proving the rule hopefully will by SRT. 35 down/ 3 to go.

Thanks. Be optimistic. I tested yesterday, and now <0.05. Almost a year after recurrence and three months after SRT. I hope that your experience with SRT is as easy as mine has been.

STW. The drop in the PSA is a good sign that the SRT has killed cancer cells and hopefully all of them will die.
