Burning Pain Across the top of the Bladder Across the Belt Line......?

Hi Everybody--what a fantastic site this is--you all help a lot of folks and bless you for it

I had RRP on 6/9/11 for a Gleason 3/3 and a pretty big prostate[although I had no symptoms] with a PSA of 4.5,one out 12 biopsy sites positive and final post report was that it was all contained but starting last Friday I started getting these sharp burning/stinging type pains during the day--none at night--accross the top of what I would consider the bladder right accross the belt line--any thoughts?--thanks in advance

Don't laugh, but have you started wearing your pants tighter, or do you have on new pants, breaking in a new belt? Think it's called fat belt syndrome, Kinda like having those bricks (Wallet, I use to carry two and wear a duty belt with what felt at times like a ton of gear on it.) we guys carry in our back pockets and sit on all day. Sure can give you any number of problems, sore butt, knock your spine out of wack, cause back and shoulder pain, indigestion.. Just a thought, I'm not poking fun at you. Believe me my chest fell into my draws along time a go.

Don't discount the enlargment of the prostate could also be causing you pain. Man, it messed with my back for a long time. Pain is the message that something is wrong.

Hi and thanks for your response--no I've made the belt is strategaicly placed elsewhere--what I was told was that's the site of a healing suture line[?] but why all the blood?

wait! what? What about the blood, where? how much? when? When urinating or seepage out? Pain all the time or while urinating? You didn't mention blood in your initial post.

Ok, now we're in a different ball field. Blood? Seeping from the suture line? Do you stop bleeding, since this shouldn't be happening after a few (hours) days unless it's from a drain!
I'll take a calm approach, could it be an allergic reaction to surgical glue or tapes? A bunch of other things can irritate what use to be unexposed skin.
Why during the day, I'd say the area is covered and more than likely getting moist or wet, thus exasperating the reaction. Are you leaving the area uncovered at night letting air get to the area? Any noticeable rash, pimples or tiny blisters?
Ok, now the first aid part of my gray matter has to chime in! If you're bleeding from a suture site you need to get yourself to Hospital or Doctor. If there's pain involved with the bleeding this is a no brainer, seek, find and undergo medical treatment, now!

Thanks guys--let me be more clear: the pain is internal not associated with a visable suture line on the skin--when the pain came I started to have blood in the urine[no other bleeding anywhere else] and was treated with an antibiotic for a bladder infection and I feel pretty good except for this pain accross where I would think is the bladder and my surgeon told me was a healing internal suture line---------and when I press in on it,it feels better but if I strecth or stand up there a streching type pain that fades down but always lets you know its there.........?

I had what I was told by my surgeon was pain along the internal sutures, and had bits of the suture material coming to the surface of the skin for about 4 months.

It was explained that this was normal. As the sutures begin to dissolve and break apart, you are left with these fragments that are stabbing on both ends whenever you move around. There were three layers, as described, each a different weight, and they broke up at different times. It was like having a small wire brush implanted in my gut.

Now, if you have significant pain, call the doc ASAP.

Many thanks for your reponse--I see my urologist on Friday--if I lay down the pain goes away and if I press on it it also deminishes so we'll see---thanks again

Well I got an answer: on pelvic CT: 5x5x7 prostatic bed hematoma[bruse]......now what?

Don't sweat it--the sugeon said he's not seen many this far out[3weeks] from surgery.......frankly I should have waited longer before going back to work but I to go
