I had what I was told by my surgeon was pain along the internal sutures, and had bits of the suture material coming to the surface of the skin for about
4 months.
It was explained that this was normal. As the sutures begin to dissolve and break apart, you are left with these fragments that are stabbing on both ends whenever you move around. There were three layers, as described, each a different weight, and they broke up at different times. It was like having a small wire brush implanted in my gut.
Now, if you have significant pain, call the doc ASAP.
