Taking care to not post anything that will make me less "anonymous", I have to say that I have taken many positions in my day-to-day work (have to keep that job for the insurance, even more so now that HT is in the mill for September) that match your post.
I don't repeat myself anymore - those who fail to listen the first time miss an opportunity to learn. I used to teach, and try, try, again to get my point across in multiple ways when the first one failed. Now, there is one shot. I don't waste my time on repeat attempts anymore.
Phone calls end when I have said what I intend to say. Hanging up has become easier.
My day at the office is done when the radiation fatigue sets in.
There are a lot of other "new normal" rules in my house, but since I am the only inhabitant, no one complains.
My neighbors appreciate me more, because walking their dogs is more productive than a lot of my "business day", and gives me more pleasure.
