 Well my psa has been holding for 17 month with alittle rise but jump from 8.38 to 12.39 in three months , had scans 3 new spots and old ones grew. Was on ht for 2/12 yrs not bad run  so now we change hope to get at least as long on chemo

Can't even pretend to understand where you are on the road, but as I'm just having to start considering HT, I can only imagine.

Do you know exactly what form you are getting or if it is a combo therapy drug thing?
Jevtana (Cabitzitaxel) is said to outperform other chemo methods and in an abstract those whom failed on Taxotere got further response with Jevtana....it appears to be a better chemo, could have more potency/side effects perhaps, so read up on such things.

I failed on Taxotere a while ago and have been most recently on Jevtana. I've had 5 cycles of the Jev and am just about to e-mail my med onc re: his ordering CT scans to see if I've gotten any benefit from the Jevtana. We've already discussed that the next chemo try, if necessary, will be Abiraterone.

Sorry about the PSA jump. That is not the news any of us wants hear. I'm hoping for good results for you from the chemo.

Yikes Alf I hate to hear this. Please stay positive my friend and know many people are cheering for you. I think you said you go to the doctor thursday please post and let us know what he says.

Well PSA tripled since stopping Tatotere in July now 155 was 56. Dr now what’s to try Jevtana because I had such bad side effects with Tatotere but from what I read they have worse side effects. Going Monday to some kind of class you go to before starting Jevtana anyone every hear of this?

Well started Javanta with predisone on Thursday and crashed today. Very weak and I was doing great any ideas on how to help with side effects. No appetite and very weak and no taste.

Consider starting a new thread -- this is a 10 year old thread. You may get better attention of our members if you do so.

In any case, hang in there as well as you can. Hopefully guys with experience for your treatments will be able to respond.
