tri mix inj question

Hello, I am going to the UR this week for 1 year post op checkup.  ED seems to be getting better but not there yet. Tried the pump with some success. I plan to ask him about the trimix injections. A question I have is does it automatically come with the self injecting spring loaded needle or would I need to specifically ask him for this?

Also, what can I expect on my visit? Will I be stuck in the office for hours waiting for things to calm down? I have a 2 hour drive home.

The spring loaded injector (or at least the ones I have seen) would be an extra. The only thing to watch for is that some (most?) auto-injectors are designed for particular brands of syringes.

You won't have to hang around the office. If the worst (!) happens, just tuck it into your waistband like you used to. Make sure you wear loose fitting clothing or a jacket so you avoid scaring women and horses. :-)

Usually there is instructions on how to inject.. Then you get to test the drug. The Dr. usually has you stay in the exam room till the wood starts to go down. Then he send you on your way.

Auto injector has to be ordered. Many of us have found that injecting to be so easy that we dont bother with the auto injector.

Best of luck.. Hope all goes well. I must say it is the one thing that brought be back to a normal life.

Not sure how it works in your area but my uro doesn't dispense drugs, he only writes and or authorizes the prescription for them. So in my case, I had to get my uro to prescribe bimix, then go to the compounding pharmacy, get it filled, then take it back to the uro for instructions on how to poke.

You said you have a two hour drive back home so you might want to see if your uro can write the prescription before you see him/her and then make the trip to get the tutorial. Here's a good resource on how to inject, http://www.phoenix5.org/sexaids/injections/injectdiagrams.html

My uro gave me the web site for instructions to familiarize myself with and then I brought the prescription in and he showed m how to do it. The bugger also stuck me first with no drug to show me how to and them asked me to do it with the drug.

I think it depends on what the Dr is going to use. In my case the first injection was with Caverject and He had some in the office of the test run.

If he is using a compound drug like TriMix or BiMix then yes most of the times you have to get the script filled before the appointment.
