Hi, been looking around the internet for a place for some information and support, and found here :)
I'm 45 years old (46 in a couple of weeks) and have had intermittent problems with urinating for a few years now. It started a few years ago when I couldn't pee one morning, and so I drank about
3 large glasses of water and it cleared up.This happened maybe a couple of times a year at most.
A month ago the same thing happened but it took about
6 large glasses of water to get me peeing again, and the pain was the worse it's ever been...brought me to tears.
I went to the Docs and she gave me a urine test, blood test and "finger up the bum" (sorry, don't know the technical term for that!). Urine showed a bit of blood and protein, blood came back with a PSA of 4 and she couldn't feel any abnormality inside me. She immediately referred me to a specialist at the hospital.
I went there yesterday and she gave me another blood test, and booked me in for a biopsy this Friday morning. She had a feel around too but couldn't feel anything out of the ordinary. Don't know if it was all the prodding and poking yesterday, but I had an uncomfortable night last night with an ache in my lower belly just above my groin....also seem to be more flatulent and feeling like I need to pooh a lot...is this normal?
So I'm waiting for Friday morning to come around, and this has all been dropped on me and I'm trying to process what will happen next!?
All advice much appreciated, thank you.
