Cramping - Help!!

I had my open RRP on 7/12 and am scheduled to have my catheter removed tomorrow morning. However, starting last night, I have been experiencing a very uncomfortable cramping sensation on my right side and near the right kidney. Didi anyone else have a similar experience? What is it? Is it normal? Should I call the doc?

Any help would be appreciated.

Aaahhh, have you moved your bowel? If I get a bit backed up I get some pains on the left side, I know it's then time to make a move, lol.

I have been pretty regular since last Friday. At least once, sometimes twice, per day.

Does it feel different then a back strain?

Are you running a fever?

No fever but it doesn't feel like a back strain.

I know you have a scheduled appointment tomorrow for catheter removal, but obviously the pain is worrying you, so why not put in a call now to let him know about it and see if he thinks there's any cause for concern.

I'm nearly a year beyond my surgery, but I've been having pain in that right kidney area, and then back pain for a month that has now diminished, but mine definitely feels like an over-use injury.  I'll discuss it with my doc when I next see him on   Aug. 1.

Call and let them know,montior it closely,see my post on grion pain,see if this helps.Whatever you do if the pain persists,don't ignor it,also take it easy,sit back and rest and watch some SPORTS.You will be sorry if you overdo it,this was a shock to your body and will take time to heal.OH the cathetor removal is snap,and plan on using lots of briefs,I used the Walgreens type that fit like shorts,then put pads in them for a quick change,this worked for me.BEST TO YOU MAN.Energy is being sent to you from my heart!

Bulls eye. That's what it is, They did an ultrasound yesterday and will do a CT scan today.

So far all they've identified is the hydronephrosis - no stones. The pain/discomfort is intermittent but quite unpleasant when it's on. Any experience sharing you can provide would be appreciated.

1. The pain does not really correlate with meds: it is much more random. I will go most of the day without meds and without pain, then the pain will come and the meds won't touch it. I take either 600mg of ibuprofen or Norco - depending on the time of day.
2.The did use iodine for the CT scan.
3. Should hear from the surgeon today on next steps. I will specifically ask about about ureter obstruction from the surgery.

The randomness of this is a bit curious to me. When it hits at night, sleep goes out the window leading to a pretty rough night (aka last night.). I'll post back on this thread after I hear from the doc today.
