I had similar experiences like Sparrowhawk with the radiation specialists. My URO is one of the top prostate RALP surgeons in Alabama and his practise and hospital is only 4 miles from my home. He extensively covered all treatments with my wife and I and never pushed the RP on us. He told me I was a good candidate for both radiation and surgery but to not even consider the wait and see course. He told me that one of the 4 partners in his practice deals only with PC radiation patients. After discussion with his partner and deciding I didn't want to drive to downtown Birmingham 4 times a week for 6 weeks to have radiation we decided to just get the cancer out and be done with it.
