8 weeks post op

da vinci procedure 6-8-11--

path rpt pt2C-5% left half-20% rt half

gleason score 3+3-6-wt 48 gms

all margines negative for neoplasm

leakage at beginning

dry @ nite @ end of 4 weeks

minor leakage now only when running (avid runner since 1975-back up to 4 mi/every day-10/m pace)

ed still problematic--viagra 25 mg/day since 6-11-11

rcd VED 8-2-11 (comments on the usage anyone?) 

retired-turning 70 on 8-14-11 (still enjoy an occasional roll in the hay)

psa never greater than .6 (six tenths) (begin scheduled psa testing 10-11)

PC discovered with dre-3-11-biopsy/ultrasound 4-8-11-(3 of 12 cores positive)

post op mtg w/surgeon on 7-29-11--probability of 99% success

Hi Taos, you and I had our same  date with the robot (June 8th) and very similar stats except I had an elevated PSA that jumped up in 6 months.  Looks like you are doing as well as I am. I have been dry since 7/1 and only problems now is the ED which my URO wants to start treating tomorrows with injections of Trimix. My URO thinks the injections will work to get both back blood flow and a healthy sex life. He told me the option for VED would be only if I do not respond to the Trimix.

Our next milestones will be the first post op OSA tests and here to both of us joining the zero club. With your unusually low pre RALP PSA you do not have far to go to get into the club.

Thank you for your comments. Unlike each of you and many others dx'd with this dreaded disease, I really did no research after diagnosis. Once dx'd my goal was to remove it. I'm still glad I did, however, the long pole in the tent (no pun intended) was/is the ED. My physiology has changed. I really can't get a pulse on what to expect with future PSA readings. My surgeon is confident they will be immeasureable. Anyway, I'm in the 4th quarter of my life and if I can finish the game, I will be content. Good luck to you guys. Here's wishing you a long life.
