I here by respectfully request official membership into the Zero Club. I have paid my visit to MSKCC for my six week post op blood work up. I have happily been informed that my PSA is <0.05! (Pre surgery 2.16, one week after surgery 0.98)
A bit of poking and some close observation of my surgical scars resulted in a "every thing looks great" remark by the nurse. I can resume full activities with no restrictions. Breaking out the bicycle later this afternoon for a short, see what happens ride.
Six weeks after surgery I can report that I am dry at night and for a majority of the day. Any kind of stressor, coughing, lifting something heavy, a good laugh will cause some very slight leakage. But the diapers and pads are gone. Doc says to keep up with the "exercises" and things will eventually get back to normal.
As for the ED, there's still a problem getting a full erection. Doc did tell me that my cancer had involved the nerves on the right side and they were removed during surgery. My wonderful insurance company will not flip the bill for Viagra. (Some $38k for surgery but not the $166 for the pills?) My VA Doc could only provide a generic Cialis: Vardenafil and then only provide two pills! Taking the Vardenafil caused me to have a tremendous head ache and no erection. So much for the wonder pills at this time. The (MSK) nurse did tell me she'd be in contact with my insurance company and would try to convince them that the medication is needed due to a surgical procedure. It may not be soon enough for me to have overcome my ED. The Doc said it would take time for the nerves to heal. Time will tell.
I'm happy and wishing everyone else such good results!
