You're the exception no one wants to talk about. A lot of guys are eager to sing the praises of AS and to condemn PSA screening, and it's as if guys like you don't exist.
I have continuing ED, so I think I have the right to say this: I think we sometimes spend way too much time worrying about the "tragedy" of SE's like impotence and ED. We say we resent those who tell us, "Hey, at least you have the "good" cancer," but then we treat our prostate cancer as if it should be exactly that. Not a big deal. Watch it and wait; don't get PSA tested. So much of it's "indolent."
And there's some truth in all of that. The statistics support it.
But statistics always fail to dwell on the downside, when things don't go as predicted.
I'm sorry you find yourself in this situation and wish you all the best. And when and if the USPSTF recommendations are fully implemented, you're going to have a lot of company in your predicament.
