Hi,
As a member here going on almost seven years, before my surgery and now after, I have received some pretty awesome feedback from some really nice members from our little PC club. I try to stay upbeat and positive for the newbies that are going to experience the robotic Radical PC surgery. I will remain as calm as I can here. I am NOT A doctor, but do know that everyone's
experience with Prostate Cancer and the surgeries that follow, are on a case by case, individual situation, based on the amount of invasion of this terrible cancer.
My URO put me on Viagra for six months post op to jump-start the blood to my manhood, as expensive as that was, I had to stop, plus it did not help me at all. I also tried CIALIS, that too, did not work. I got a vacuum pump which is a joke, although it's somewhat nice to see my little guy expand in size for a few seconds before the suction kills me,then as soon as I released the pressure, it would be limp again, so that too was a waste of money.
I was exactly in your shoes three years ago, prior to my surgery. My PSA was only 3.8 before they did a biopsy and told me they found a few cancer cells within my prostate, so they recommended the NERVE SPARING DaVinci robotic surgery, which he told me would preserve the blood bundles of the gland for future sexual function.
Something might have gone terribly wrong in the O.R., because I just saw him last week, and he told me, if I haven't achieved any erections at this point after three years, then I will never get them naturally at all....so YEAH, have as much as possible NOW, like I should have done back then...I truly believed as he told me prior, that my sexual function would come back, not 100%, but I could achieve some type of usable function. Just read up on everything and ask as many questions, and be confident your surgeon has done many of of these, because you definitely do not want to feel the way I do at this point in my life. Read up, and enjoy natural healthy sex and as much as your partner will allow! You'll be thankful. No one really knows what could happen on the "other side". Good luck, and take care...
