I noticed a golf ball size lump at the top of my exit incision above my navel in the shower this morning. I`m thinking it`s scar tissue, I`m 7 weeks out from surgery.

The wife`s  worried that it might be an abcess or hernia? What do you think? should I call the Doc?

golf ball size sounds a bit huge for normal scar tissue, if it were me, i would be calling my surgeon to be on the safe side.

Get on the phone and get a consult. Call the late service. Demand an appointment.

The only thing that should be the size of a golf ball 7 weeks out should be one of a pair smilewinkgrin

Sounds like an Umbilical Hernia to me...........

Thanks guys, I think I`d better call my surgeon, That`s all I need is another surgery. I`ll keep you posted.

hey 1snake,

I had the same thing. for me it came about 6 months after surgery. It was a hernia. I was told that when the prostatectemy was done, they probably pulled the tissue to tight and it didn't get enough blood. I had surgery for it a year ago last summer...easy surgery, but it has now reherniated. bummer,. I am getting it fix in Nov. when I get a penile implant.

Sounds like an umbilical hernia. I did mine the other way around. Umbilical hernia repair in May and DaVinci in August. turn

Yeppers...that be an Umbilical hernia.... I lived with mine for at least five years and had it repaired a year before PC surgery.  

Reason I had mine repaired is that I bumped it real good and it hurt like hell for a couple weeks.

If you read up on it you'll see that there is a SMALL chance that some intestine can get pinched and turn gangrene and is a much larger surgery. My surgeon says you'll know it if it happens...
