I have been reading and researching on this forum for the past month, and have learned a great deal about PC, and it's treatment.

I am scheduled for RALP on 10/03/11, and am looking forward to having this cancer out of me.

I had the biopsy show 2 cores out of 12 with cancer. My bone and CT scans were negative.

With all that I am very optimistic about the outcome, and looking forward to the next phase of the surgery and recovery process.

Welcome to HW. I hate to see new members, but we keep the light on just the same.

Look at our resources thread at the top of the forum, where there is a "really useful list" that really is useful for getting ready.

We are here if you have questions (it is "National Stupid Question Day", I was told), so go for it - good or bad or just a vent.

Thank your everyone for the encouraging words, and best to you krm001 on your upcoming surgery!

I have to laugh when I think about the 20 pounds I lost prepping for the surgery, only to realize that it will be the final 22 GRAMS (the weight of 4 quaters) that I lose in the surgery that will be most critical. smilewinkgrin

Welcome to our fraternity that no man rushes to join.  The surgery will be a piece of cake for you as you will sleep through it all.  Your family will have the hard part as they have to wait for the surgery, mine took almost 6 hours and my poor wife had to sit in the waiting room for me. I lost 69 grams when my prostate was removed, yes it was a big one.

There is one other rule in this forum, do not return you prostate with a full tank. Mine was returned empty and with flat tires. smilewinkgrin

So all the things you learned from here and the positive feelings it gave you - Same here -

I've been a member of HW since late July and this community has been literally a god send.

So my feelings, we OWE it to the community to be active members. And I mean that in the most positive way.
