Always great feeling knowing that the latest PSA check is less that 0.05. My urologist and PCP at the VA clinic keeps me on a 6 months follow up. I had my surgery in Dec 2008 and all my post PSA are less than 0.05. I feel great being in the Zero club. The ED still there. Even though the left and right seminal vesicles were spared, the erection is not where you want it to be. My urologist said that, it takes a while and of course it is dependent on the patient. Reading some of the post of other member, they had their erection few months after the surgery. Well, for me, I am taking 5mg Cialis once a week.. that is the only dosage the VA authorize. I used to take the levitra (20 mg) once week and then I decide to try the cialis to see which one will be more effective. I ll give it a try then Either they will increase to 20 mg or I may try the viagra. Both gave me enough juice to penetrate but it does not stay firm long enough. Anyway, I am just thankful and blessed that the cancer was detected early and was taken out which is the most important thing. It's worry free. With the ED, I could deal with the waiting. Thanks for the forum and more power for all the moderator. You guys are doing a good job.

Being in the big Zero club is always good. It's OK right now for the ED. I guess, I just have to wait and for the mean time just resort to cialis (4mg) until VA will approve 5mg everyday or 20 mg a week.

NV - Great news and prospects you are firmly in the zero club.

We all have to make our own decisions on all the conflicting opinions. With regards the ED I must say my regret was believing my surgeon/urologist. He claimed that because of my relative youth and excellent physical condition at surgery he gave me 90-95% chance of full recovery of sexual function - "without meds?" - (pause), "yes".

That's not what I have perceived from numerous co-sufferers of ED, post robotic prostatectomy. I haven't heard of any who have got back to pre-surgery sexual vigour at 3 years.
At 6 months I accepted the free trial of V, C and L - they should have been pressed into my hand when the snake was removed in my opinion. Then they should have stopped raising false hopes that recovery of erections was a walk in the park. For a few that may be the case but clearly for most, even younger men, ED will be a battle waged.

I once said I would never consider sticking needles in my penis. The thought, from a mental and spontaneity point of view, was unthinkable. Things change, "never say never" has always been a saying of mine. That has taken on a new meaning. Injections 2 months in, are no big deal and very easy to incorporate into your life. Just saying.....

My urologist just said before that it will take time for full recover of sexual function. He did not really specify how long. Like you said we made our intelligent choice and we will stick to it. Not thinking of what could have been if we did not elect to go on surgery. Life must go on. I am happy with what I have right now. Occasionally, I got erection with the use of C. (5mg), wishing more but it just not going to happen. I haven't tried the V yet. And not even considering the needles yet, however, in this forum, many are using it. I might try it in the future if the V is not going to work or if Va is not going to give me C for everyday use.
