I had my RALP surgery on 10/4 6AM and released from the hospital on 10/5 6PM. My surgeon felt everything went very well, no capsule penetration, no need for lymph node dissection, both nerves spared and bladder to urethra connection excellent.
Pathology came back same Gleason 6 (3+3), all cancer contained in prostated, no capsular penetration and margins are clear. I could not ask for a better report.
Still recovering from bout of severe diarrhea after surgery, slowing down a bit today went in for testing today to see if I picked up a virus or if between the pre-surgery bowel prep, medications, antibiotics and getting a shot of Milk of Magnesia the day I released from the hospital may have cleaned out all the good bacteria from my bowels. I also had a cystogram done to make sure all the plumbing was intact, no leaks found, healing well. The surgeon was so pleased with the results he was thinking about pulling the catheter out today, but we decided to let it heal another few days and moved the removal date from next Thursday (9 days after surgery) to Monday (6 days after surgery) . Then onto the next level of recovery, kegel exercises and ED recovery, then shedule my 4 month PSA test.
Thanks for everyone's support here on the forum, I am so glad I found HW and will always be here for the other brothers in this fraternity. I'll keep adding new updates through my progress.
