2011 the Chinese year of the cancer?

As if 2011 hasn't been my year of the cancer. This week I had my visit to the dermatologist and had a bunch of pre cancer spots frozen off my face and neck. But worse was  a very suspicious looking black ugly mole was surgically removed from my left breast to be biopsied for melanoma.  I have a family history of melanoma to go with PC, I just love my genetics. Now the one week waiting game for the biopsy results just like back in April mad

I had the same thing before I had the rp. I went to the Derm with my wife( she had an appt as well). He cut out a few suspiscious spots that kept on coming back. My wife told him about my upcoming prostate surgury and out of sympathy wouldn't yell at me for the wonderful tan I had. He did tell me I was going to be fine. The biopsy did come back cancerous but not to be concerned... the least dangerous one. When it rains, it pours. You'll be fine too!

By the way, how expensive is trimix?

If it'll make ya feel any better - I have a mole inside my right ear that's prime to be frozen out AGAIN... It's about the size of a quarter.

good luck as you await the results of those biopsies,hopefully you will be in the clear.

despite all my other cancer events (4), never had had any kind of skin cancers or removals of spots, etc. My body is literally free of moles, I am moleless, lol. Also, I have spent a lifetime of avoiding direct exposure to the sun, always wear hats and long sleeve shirts if I am going to be outside. As the result of that, I don't really have any sun exposure related wrinkles either.

Thanks Steve, the mole in question was about the size of a dime and was partially located on my left nipple which was why my dermatologist was so concerned.

David,

I'm afraid I am now paying the price of growing up in Southern Calif and spending too much time at the beach and on sailboats as a teenager. The Dermo said all of the lesions he removed on my face and neck are sun related. I have used high SPF sunscreen and hats for years now when I am in the sun. The suspicious mole if it turns out to be cancerous may be more genetics than sun related.

Well I do not have to wait any longer I just got my biopsy result on the ugly suspicious mole and it is benign, so I guess this is not the year of the cancer after all. . . . thankfully nono

Great news Terry. I raise my glass, do make sure you celebrate your good fortune. It's funny how we become more and more grateful for any good news as we grow older! Don't know about the Chinese mythology but God is smiling on you.
