first try at edex injection today

hello

I am heading over to the uro office today to try edex for the first time.  I have a two hour drive home and wondering how long I should expect to wait it out in the office before I can head home. Do things go down in a reasonable amount of time?

pard, mine was about 45 min, don't think doc will let you leave stiff

guess I'll have to see. I have read to have some sudafed on hand as it will counteract the medications.

hey ask about a pump I didn't think I would like it but for me it is better than a shot and using it every morn gives me some hope.

mine was prescription grade $500 , trying to get ins to pay but if it works its worth it . my doc said just another tool in in box. good luck from Texas

My first injection with .25ml of Alprostadil which I believe is just a generic name for Edex and Caverject (20mcg per ml strength) lasted just about an hour with 100% erection. I hope you don't experience the substantial pain I did with my 2 attempts with this drug. I won't be using it again for sure. If it does happen to you the pain will disappear as soon as the erection does. Steve NolaVette

I experienced pain also with not as good erection fear it will worse if i up dosage but desire makes me forget the pain. been using pump,things not what it used to be, on cialis 3 or so times a week also.
what are you doing besides shaking your head in wonderment?

If you are experiencing pain or discomfort with Alprostadil (edex,caverject, prostaglandin) as many men do. you should investigate Bi-Mix or Tri-Mix.  I have used Bi-mix successfully for over four years.  Bi-Mix and tri-mix are mixed at a compounding pharmacy following your doctors Rx.  Bi-mix is usually a 30/1 mix of papavarine and phentolomine.  Tri-mix includes a small amount of of alprostadil too.

Many men have found bi-mix to be very helpful in regaining sexual function.

Alprostadil was very painful for me, I was then put on Trimix by my URO and it works great. Took awhile to find the right dose amount which varies in all of us. It is 100% painless for me and works like a champ.  Less side effects than Viagra or Cialis once you get past the self injecting part, which I thought I couldn't ever do, but it is also painless with a 30ga insulin needle.

Funny you should mention about driving.

I discovered that Highway Driving is one effective way of knocking down a injection erection -- probably better than walking it off or going thru a Circuit Training routine (yeah only if you have a exercise room -- not at your public gym).

How do I know this?? Well, from experience of course!

On my first shot there was really not much waiting around. My Doc shot me up with 30u .. (vs 10u that I use now for 2+ hours) .. I was there for 10 minutes .. he checked the impressive rock hard erection and said, "Well, good luck getting out of here with that" as I tried to stuff it into pants. Plus, the clinic waiting room which had been nearly empty when I went in was of course now crowded with women waiting. Luckily I had a folder and papers to use as a bit of a shield and was able to slink on out.

What we will do to get what we get .... yep..

Good luck my friend! The high way driving will help a whole lot. I'm 44 years old, and 17 months post surgery . Trimix was my best friend but I just hate needles. 10mg of levitra 1hr before intercourse with less alcohol works perfectly for me now.

I was one of the lucky guys in that the Caverject or Edex did not cause any pain at all. My first injection was in the Uro's office and as soon as it started to go down just a bit. He told me I could go.
