dx 51, but probably have had it for years. Blew off my 45 and 50 physicals, which may have been a mistake.

53. Interesting age stats, 50 - 54 is the biggest group. Definitely not the "old man's disease that you die with not of" that is the official spiel. I wonder if anyone here has taken part in a survey by health authorities on prostate cancer? And is prostate cancer becoming an increasingly middle-aged men's problem?
Is there any person here on this forum who is savvy about constructing a statistical model to learn about the progress of cancer? We seem to have a huge gulf between what "health authorities" say and what medical specialists and our own intuitions as victims and survivors have to say. Now I am statistically cancer free I am here on this forum mainly to help other men deal with the misinformation and fear they often experience at diagnosis, and not necessarily to become political.

57 now 60
It sure was an adjustment but I am a very happy man! Life is very good for me and my wife just celebrated 40 years together. Don't know how I would have gotten through this without her.
