I am amazed by this study.  Why is it that J.H. can see this stuff but others can't?  I know reading slides is an art.   All the more reason to get multiple opinions all the time.....

Also, might explain some of these strange recurrences seen that seem to have no explanation.

Why is it that very little web information can be found regarding ploidy information (atleast to the public - some journal things need subscriptions to read info)? I remember hearing 3 types of ploidy exist and yet some sites refer to only 2 types, maybe this needs clearing up for us laypeople (diploid, aneuploid, teteraploid?) Would like to see a better weblink to define such info. Being diagnosed with the worst ploidy known up front at biopsies should be a useful clue to an oncologist whom is highly informed as to perhaps HT therapy useages and possible durations of effectiveness of them. Seems shameful we spend plenty of money on usually non-definitive scannings and yet don't put money into wiser useage in pathology optional testings? (your incite would be nice to hear on such)

I realize that as a layperson we will never get a full grasp on all the genetics and complexities within PCa, even if we study it alot, so as laypeople we can atleast look to try and grasp the concepts or overall message or ideas on things (PTEN, AR receptor, mTOR, BCL-2...yada-yada-yada). LOL- our local urologist is naturally studying all this type of thing!

I got so interested in pathology that I got my slides and thanks to my fabulous onco-doc he arranged with a local hospital pathologist to show me the slides under a microscope, get a few tips on what I saw, and copied some photos onto a USB memory stick so I can view them and I then did share them unto the www.yananow.net website, it was easy to see PNI within one of my photos..., I had Gleasons 7,8,9's found and in two sets like that...so one can have multiple Gleason scores happening and I presume it is also possible to have more than one type of PCa within the prostate, but you could confirm that thinking.
