Long awaited PSA test next Monday

Ok, this is what I'm going to do for you. Listen up. I am sending the nurse I had the other day to South Carolina (that's where you're from, right?) She will draw the blood and you'll be fine.

I say this because I visited my radiologist the other day. Before I see him, I need to go through a series of nurses, one of which was a newby. She took my blood pressure, put it away, and then told me to sit still. I asked her why since she wasn't touching me and nothing was attached to me. She just told me to be still. I looked at her and she was staring at her watch and her fingers were on her wrist. After about a minute she wrote something down and left. I swear she took her own pulse and wrote it down.

Fast forward to your situation - This nurse will take blood for you. I will not say for sure, but I bet you --- it will come back undetectable.

On a serious note - whatever the number -- you will deal with it. Have a great holiday regardless of the number.

Thanks one and all. I just have to remember to show up at 330 on Monday, lol. With this lab, I may have to wait a few days for results, my uro will call me with them if I ask.

Thank you, Aimzee for your kind words. Nothing is written in stone in my PC journey, or any other man's as far as that go. Even the best doctor's can only speculate on outcomes that haven't happened yet. There is always the chance of beating the odds, even if the odds are grim. As a nurse, my wife is around patient's that were given 6-9 month to live with certainty, and have the patients still kicking around 5 years later. But either way, I have fully accepted the card dealt to me, and I really am ok with it. We are born without a choice, and we all have to die without a choice, it's called life.

As far as the novel goes, I think it was discussed at last week's chat night. I had mentioned, that my former publisher of my first 2 novels out of the blue, wants to publish my last manuscript, one I finished 4 years ago. If it works out, will be published late winter or early spring.

test will be over with by this time tommorow, but will take 2-3 days to get an answer, since it sent to a lab outside of my uro's office. i have stayed with the uro during the draws, because i like lab consitency, which hasnt been a problem for me. a minor wait doesnt bother me. all my tests have been at the same lab since 2007 (with one minor exception a couple of years ago, and the lab that was the exception screwed it up, lol).

I hope for once you get surprised and the rise in PSA is not as much as you fear.

I am more than a bit apprehensive about my PSA in January. Been off HT for about six months now and this one will be the first where there might be a rise in PSA. Oncologist says probably not yet, but who knows with this disease?
