With reference to an earlier post, I would hesitate paying for an overseas order of any type with a personal check.  Such a check has both the bank's routing number and your account number on its face.  It would'nt very difficult for someone to drain your checking account with such information.  And in this case you would'nt have the protection you have if your credit card number is stolen. A money order is much safer than either of the above.

Pre-Paid Card: I think these are the Visa or MC gift cards that you can purchase at many stores. I know Wal Mart has them. I have not used them but know several guys that have and there has not been a problem,.

Maybe you are right, Kingbird, but if that is the case, then one can't confidently send a check anywhere.

How would one protect themselves from the person simply cashing the Money Order and never sending the item ?
