I am thankful for my wife, daughter,grandson and YES my in-laws.Also I'm thankful that my sister in law is cooking the turkey and all we have to bring is my favorite drink (vodka) and my appetite.

I am thankful for my wife, one of the strongest people on the face of this earth, who always lifts my spirits and gives me encouragement, our children who support me and will always be my three girls, our grandchildren, who add so much enrichment to our lives, and my 15 month PSA, which came in yesterday's mail at undetectable.

My Son and beautiful wife.
Skilled surgeons who study disease toward the goal of eliminating the need for surgery.
Sunrise over water.
Apple Pie.
Big Green Eggs.
Random acts of kindness.
Music.
Unridden waves.
Fire pits.
Sunsets over water.
Any combination of the above.

For the newly diagnosed: look for peace; it will come.

I have so many things to be thankful for, I don't know where to start, but especially on my mind as we enter this holiday season are my brothers and sisters in our Armed Forces who are away from their families so that we have to freedom to enjoy our holidays. My thanks, prayers and best wishes for their safe return is high on my list, they can't come home soon enough.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to all my HW friends and their families!

I am thankful for my wife who has been there since marriage, especially through this PC.
Thankful for my children who making a life of their own with spouses who love them.
My grandson's life, he was NICU for 2 months and wasn't suppose to live past a day, 9 months and doing great!
Thankful I live in a country where we have the freedom to say what we are thankful for.
Thankful to be alive, as 5 year ago in October, 1 surgeon and one oncologist at Dana Farber told me my prognosis was 5 years left.
I am thankful for the prayers in my community that were lifted up during that time for healing
I am thankful for the skill of my surgeon on 13th of December, 2006

Most of all I am thankful for my Lord Jesus Christ.

Lots to be thankful for...

1) my wife

2) my family

3) being overwhelmed at work with the amount of orders...especially considering the overall economy

4) my 2 1/2 year post-surgery PSA <0.1 (found out 1/2 an hour ago)

5) the people I've met along the way

...and much, much more.

I don't have a lot of the things the rest list, no wife, no kids, no grandkids, no dog, but there are a few things that stand out this year, which I would have never noticed before PCa:

A job which lets me work at home (I think they just don't want the one-holer tied up all the time, but ... ), and has insurance that grumbles and argues, but pays more often than not.

Neighbors who look out for me (and have dogs and cats that count for more pets than I could ever take care of).

A great park to get in my two hours walking every day without being run over by anything with wheels. Lived by it for years, but didn't appreciate it until post-surgery.

A crew of friends from our GFMPH weekends who couldn't ever be replaced. I actually got on an airplane (four times) because of you guys smilewinkgrin

I think we all should be thankful that we live in countries like the USA and Australia which provided us with the opportunity to be treated for PCa. I'm sure there are other folks in the world not so fortunate.

For me, two things spring to mind:

1 finding this web site; and
2 gaining membership to the zero club!

We don't have a "Thanksgiving" here in Australia, but as it's nearing the festive season I'd like to wish everyone a happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

Thankfull for
1) Wife - she has gone through a lot with me and doesn't look back
2) 5 Kids - all turned our fantastic - Daughter told us she is pregnant with our 10th grandkids
3) 9.2 grandkids - so far so good even though oldest is 5 years old and youngest two are 1
4) Family - Brother and Sister and Nephews and Nieces are family not in word but action.
5) Friends - they went through the worst with me and are there
6) God, Jesus and the Church - it has always been there when I sometimes are not or should be
7) PC being gone (10 yrs) and continence after 10 years due to AMS800
8) Drs. - all have been the right ones when I need them
9) Work - Work has been good to me going through PC and Incontinence
10) New Friends on Healthwise and great info - reading about the AMS on here was a godsend - THANK you all
11) Being able to help others with some of my limited experience with PC .

12) My HERO's on here - some of you have gone through allot more than I have, some of you are just starting the journey and some maybe reaching the end, but the care and concern you have all shown shines forth to all reading

Sonny, thank you for posting such beautiful thoughts.  Prayers going out to you and Lynn.

Susan, I love the picture of your sons - how great is that!

I have been blessed with a good life.  Even though Ron is too weak to do outside work, I am thankful that I was able put the Christmas lights on seven bushes and the porch area.

I am thankful for my sweet, sweet husband.  He is such a good man. I have been blessed with three great kids and four beautiful Grandchildren.  I thank God each day for them, and for my wonderful friends!

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday.

142,  Life changes and you never know what you could be thankful for next year at this time.  I am happy you have neighbors who look out for you!  I am thankful that you responded so quickly to my zillion questions.  You and David made me feel very welcomed.  I know I have thanked you in the past, but just a little reminder that you have been kind to many here on the Forum.

I am Thankful for life in general, that my 96 year old mum survived a stroke, for my excellent medical team, the support of my wife and family, that my PSA is going DOWN? all the members of HW which I have been a member of for nearly 5 years, and all the members of my Lawn Bowls club, for their support, and David and Tony.

Little late on responding to this thread, but seems appropriate to resurrect this as I felt the responses were and are a gift from each of our brothers and sisters who responded to our family.

What is Bud thankful for?

My wife, my best friend, the mother of our two beautiful girls. It is close to 40 years now we have been together. Each day the sparkle in her eyes fills me with joy and wonder. Without her at my side this crap journey that is now part of our life would have been so much harder.

Our daughters - what a treat they have been and continue to be. 35 and 28 - I look at how wonderful, caring ladies they are and how they rallied to Dad. Da*n I am a lucky guy.

My medical team at the VA in DC.

Our family here at Healing Well. Brothers and Sisters - HUGS!!

Being able in some small way to contribute to our family here. Hopefully I have provided some light and joy.

Peter for providing us this corner of the world for all of our family to gather and help each other

I am also a little late responding as I was on a cruise ship when my friend Sonny started this thread.

As I reflect back this year in a weird way I am thankful for my PCa as it brought me to this forum. In this forum I have made so many new great friends from all over the world who I would never have known otherwise.  One of the best times I have had in years was meeting most of these new friends in NY at the GFMP gathering. I have to thank Sonny, Corvetteman, Moderator 142 and Worried Guy for talking me into attending the GFMPH and I will not miss any future gatherings.

HW and my new friends gave me a sense of purpose and the tools to use my PCa experience as a tool to help others in dealing with their PCa journeys. I also want to thank Peter for starting Healing Well for with out his work foresight none of us this would be reading here.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

I am grateful that I found this place two years ago when my husband was diagnosed... grateful that his PSA has remained at zero and he no longer needs to be tested every three months..grateful that his diagnosis led to the diagnosis of an abdominal aortic aneurysm that was repaired 7 months after RP...grateful for the excellent insurance his company carries.

Plenty of blessings to be thankful and too many to mention in this forum. However, to mention one and foremost, I am very thankful just waking up every morning for another day and going to bed after another day.
