Kinda had a bad experience with my Trimix today...injected this morning a dose that has only given me about 75% fullness before...really just for some penile rehab, but for the first time I got an intense ache immediately. Before achieving erection even. Within half an hour the ache was severe enough that I could not hardly touch it. Between hours 1 and 4 I was nearly crazy with pain, barely able to walk...tried ice and a total of 5 sudafeds, hot tub soaks (its helped before). AT 4.5 hours it went down to ~90% so I thought I was OK, but came back up 110%. I got to the ER at 5.5 hours (urgent care couldn't treat priapism) still very miserable to the point where baggy scrubs pants were too much pressure. By the time the urologist came in it was 6 hours and things had deflated to maybe 25% by the grace of God. The pile of needles and syringes to "flush things out" were not needed although I would've begged for it an hour prior. I was close to doing some permanent damage.
My only theory is that by not shaking the vial, the 3 ingredients settled out and separated and I withdrew predominantly the prostaglandin ...hence the immediate and protracted intense ache. Prostaglandins are a key component in pain signal transmission and my experience is what I would expect if I were to inject pure prostaglandin. So I am going to be sure and shake well and start very low dose and build it back up.

yes good advice, sorry to hear about your ordeal, shake it and make sure it has fully dissolved if frozen, wonder if mix changes as it gets older?
I also suffered pain with trimix and before that the prostaglandin on it's own, My Doc is a believer that you try it first (PGE1) to see if it causes pain as it is a natural drug where the others are synthetic, I think. Anyway I am now trying bimix to see how it goes. Dosage is Papaverine 150mg, Phentolamine 10mg in 6mls of saline. Only tried it once no pain but will need to increase dose a bit :-)

Scott - how old is your timix and has it turned a milky color?

I get some inconsistency of results but not so much as you experienced Scott. Your theory sounds plausible.

You hadn't used a cialis or viagra within 24 hours had you? That can make a difference.to the effectiveness of the shot.

Trimix is under a month old and I was on no other ED drug. Ive only recently been using Trimix so obviously I have some dialing in of the dose to do. So far its been wildly inconsistent, but not gonna give it up yet!

And there I've been always shaking the trimix AFTER injecting it!

(And often I have someone else shake it for me, too) ....

You shouldn't have to shake it since the mixture is diluted at the microscopic level and won't separate. If there is any cloudiness then the mixture has expired and should be discarded. My compounding pharmacy date the mix to expire in 90 days and I have noticed a reduced effect as it gets closer to this date. But as long as it isn't cloudy I just up the dose a wee bit.

Jstars reply had me laughing (actually I blew beer through my nose).  I've got to spring the concept of the "Trimix Shake" on the missus ... hope she doesn't miss the point, I know I wont.
