Buzz1,
I understand your position 100%, as I'm 45 and diagnosed on the same date as you. I didn't like the idea of surgery, and am also going the radiation route. My Gleason7 (3+4) was found 2 cores out of 16 in the biopsy, @ 5% and 11%, PSA 3.7. My radiation oncologist prefers to go with seeds alone, rather than the combination therapy, although he said that if I want, I could elect to do that. But from his findings, the brachy implants worked just as well without adding EBRT to it. I'm hoping he is right, and trusting his judgement and experience at doing just under 2000 procedures. My date is scheduled for Jan 18th.
My urologist also favored surgery, but he said that he really can't knock radiation, as it's just as effective and a different way to effect the same goal. He said no matter what treatment is chosen, there is usually some second guessing going on. The bottom line is that YOU have to be comfortable with your choice, and beleive it offers the best chance of cure/SE's for your individual situation.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
Bob
