had my colonoscopy today....

the doctor found no polyps so took no samples.  he also said there was no radiation damage from my BT and IGRT treatments.  he said he would see me in 10 years cool .

Congrats on the good report. I will be following you on the scope trail in the next couple of weeks. Waiting on the appt schedule now. Figured at 63 I should probably have one done. Especially with all of the conversation lately about the damage over time from SRT.

Really liked the part where the doc said, see you in 10 years.

well, he's my hepatologist so really i will see him in a week  cool .   i may even be more game for a liver biopsy now .  i ate a 1/2 pound cheeseburger and bag of fries when we got home and just arose from a two-hour nap with the wife and dog.  my wife just left to run 7-seven miles with her group (she's a mentor for team in training).  i may to go out and get some japanese food to celebrate the good news.  thank you all for your thoughts and support cool .

I know you are happy to hear the good news, especially about no polyps or radiation damage. I've been keeping an eye on your earlier posts, thinking I'll probably need to get one sometime in the not so distant future.

powellst -- they say the prep is the worst part (ad nausem).  but even that was not so bad.   i mixed the movi-prep with apple juice and it still tasted pretty foul but i could down a liter in about 10 minutes.  i sorta remember some things from the procedure but for all intents and purpose i was knocked out.

so i'll say fasting was the worst part cool .

Congratulations Ed! Glad to hear the great news.

I've been putting off my 50th birthday present (as my family doc put it) since he found the nodule on my prostate last May 2011 and went through my RALP in October. I've been waiting for the okay to schedule my colonoscopy and I know in May this year my family doctor will be scheduling it.  

Keep up the good reports.
