Would appreciate some comments about my use of TriMix.  I have gotten a 5 cc vial from my doctor this Monday.  He tried .1 ml on me last week with a # 25 or 26 syringe.  It hurt and left two bruises.  It didn't do much while I was in the office and he said to increase it when I got the bottle from the Pharmacy (that I picked up at his office Monday).   I tried .2 ml on right side Tuesday night, and it got a fairly good erection that lasted only about 5 minutes.  I tried .3 ml on left side Wednesday night, and got a firm erection for only about a minute.  Did I try it too soon after Tuesday night?  I read where I should only use the Trimix no more than 10 times a month which would be every three days. The Px he got for me is 17.65 Papaverine, .59 Phentolamine, and 5.89 Prostaglandin.  Is this a weak or strong dose?  I did get a # 30 syringe which doesn't hurt, and it is 5/16 in. long.  I have some 1/2 in. ones.  Would the half inch one get it in better?

 

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.  I do not have cancer, but hypogonadism.  I take 1 cc of testosterone every two weeks.  Have tried a pump w/ring for several years, and it worked fair, but about 2 months ago, it would not hold the erection long enough.

That is about as weak a formula as i have seen. A more Standard formula would be more like 30pap, 1 phent and 20 PGE-1.

Also those extra decimal places are strange .. must be they are starting with some total values for the whole 5ml vial and then just dividing by 5. But, none of the x5 values are even numbers or anything special ... 88.25 ... 2.95 ... 24.45 ... I guess they are what they are and that's all they are.

If you still can do it, ask your doc for a stronger dose script to bring to the pharmacy. Will save money in the long run for sure and most importantly, you'll get lots more shots from the 5ml!

I use 30 ga 1/2 inch insulin syringes. My formula is 30pap, 1.5 phent and 20 PGE and it takes .35ml to give me a 2 hour erection of which about 30 minutes are good enough for sex. Good luck

Thank you for your replies. Guess I am stuck with the 5 ML bottle till I use it up (it cost $ 125). I will call pharmacy tomorrow and talk to them about the components and why the Doctor made the Px so weak. Should I wait 3 days between trying the next dose, and should I go to a .4 ML or a .5 ML or more (?) since the .2 and .3 didn't do anything much? Terry TWG, based on your formula, I probably need to use about .75 to get as much active material as you have. I will try the 1/2 inch syringe next time.

Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

You need to wait only 24 hours between each injection. But no more than 3 times a week. And the ED specialist I’m seeing says those 3 times can be on consecutive days. My Rx is PAPV 30MG/PHENTLMN 1MG/PE-1 10MCG/ML and I’m now using .20cc each time and getting penetration hardness lasting 30 to 45 minutes. It took me over a month to get to that dose however, as I started at 0.05cc and gradually worked my way up! :-)

Thanks Tigerfan, for the information. I talked to the pharmacist this morning where my doctor got my Trimix. He said mine was a rather low concentrated formulation. He recommended the 1/2 inch needle rather than the 5/16 inch that came with the Px, and this is what TerryTWG had suggested. He said to try .5 ml next time (last try was .3 on Wednesday night). As soon as the 5cc is used up, I will try to get my doctor to prescribe a higher concentrated dosage.

Any other suggestions or ideas from other members would be appreciated.

Sounds like you not only have a weak formula but you are paying around the highest price per ml i have seen so far (except for the Boston Medical Group -- but they are not a legit Pharmacy).

You might want to look at American Pharmacy Solutions -- which has 5 ml of super strength (47mcg PGE-1) for under $50 (shipping extra). I have not gotten this yet but have used them for Trimix Gel and they are great and I do plan to go with this version on my next prescription (since I am paying $90 for 5ml now .. plus a gallon of gas to and from the pharmacy). Just print the form and show your doc and he faxes it in. After that it works as a prescription that you order over the phone.

Thanks so much for the information. After reading your post, I went on the website for Amer. Pharmacy Solutions (APS), and saw their prices. Man, they are so much cheaper than what I had to pay through the doctor. I printed the fax form, so when I use up my weak formula, will see if I can get him to change the Px from his pharmacy to APS, and let them mail it to me. I had to drive 50 miles to his office Monday to get the little 5 cc vial after seeing him there last week.

I am still a little unclear of the terminology you and others have used. When you state 47mcg PGE-1, exactly what does the mcg and the PGE-1 mean? What does it mean when it has on the APS fax form 30mg for one of the formulations of Papaverine? I assume mg means 'milligrams' but does it mean that much in one Milliliter (1CC)?

Sorry to be a little dumb on some of this.

The ingredients are just like what you had stated for your own formula.

Pap is always around 30mg/ 1 ml of bacteriastic water Or sometimes just sterile water)
Phent is .5 to 2 mg
PGE-1 ProstaglandinE-1 is from 10-50mcg (20 is pretty standard). Yeah that is microgram so is pretty potent stuff at a 1000 times smaller amount than the Pap. Its just the way it works and we are all thankful that it does.

Assuming you have no achiness from a higher PGE-1 formula (or from your future really high doses with your current bottle) you will always find that you will use much less per shot with a high strength formula -- and of course that also means much less PAP -- which is the main instigator of any fibrosis -- less PAP is better.

But i think higher PGE-1 means trickier dosing -- just a 1 or 2u change if you are only using 5u can make a bigggg difference -- so watch it and do not use any any prior dosages/prescriptions as a rule of thumb (unless you are really good at math!) when going to a high strength version.

Probably just start at 1U and work your way up -- that is what I will do. ( I am not a Uro .. so listen to yours .. BUT they can be clueless too, so override their judgement to start lower if you think it is right).
