Spotted this new member in Todd's Provenge thread, didn't want anyone to miss out:

"My husband, 52, just completed PROVENGE treatments. Our insurance co. took 3 weeks to ok. I have never heard anything about " not as good results" with younger men. Will ask about this at our US TOO meeting on Tuesday. Our urologist meets with this group 1x every month and answers ALL questions, whether we like the answers or not. Husband just had his 1st PSA drawn yesterday, since PROVENGE series. I know this is not an indicator of how it's working, but we like to follow it. Don't give up!"

purgatory-- you should definately see an oncologist they are cancer experts-- urologist are organ experts. both are important but the oncologist is the way to go.
i am starting up on provenge because my doc wants me to have some other treatment before chemo. if i relied just on my urologist. i would be missing out on trials and other treatments. i have had advanced pc since 1997(age49) psa is high, but the bone and cat scans are negative. pc is sill in the micro stage trying to make up its mind. my docs say there is something in my body that makes me do well with treatments.. good luck- provenge sounds exciting.
