Club membership may be ending !UPDATE!

After several years of PSA's below detection threshold, this month's shows a slight rise to .054. While still below the .1 mark, it is a rise that will most likely be a precursor to a larger number next time. Will be meeting with my Doc soon to go over the result and what plan of action (or inaction) will take place. I know I've been blessed with several years of no real PSA, but with the numbers I started out with, I pretty much knew it was only a matter of time. Still in the scheme of things, I know I'm still much better off than many others here.

Hopefully its more of a blip for you then a trend. But definitely worth keeping your eyes open.

.05 is an interesting number in the PC world, all the emphathis is put on the <.10 line of thinking. My original post surgery PSA was .05, and my uro/surgeon was deeply worried, and told me right then and there, that would be trouble ahead. He wasn't wrong, the surgery was ruled failed within 9 months with recurrance. Your next couple of readings should tell the story, if you are heading for BCR, or if you are just having a little number movement. I wish you the best.

I am not an expert but after looking at your pathology there isn't anything that suggests that your cancer was not contained in the prostate. If it was me, and you and I have very similar pathology, I would have another PSA done immediately to rule out a bad test or false score.  Other considerations could be factors like a change is testing labs, equipment or even technician. My URO used equipment that only read PSA down to .07 on my first PSA but on my second they had a new machine that reads down to .04,

There no is reason for you to fret and worry the next 6 months waiting for your next test if this was a false reading. Good luck.

Ralph, I don't mean to downplay your result but I had a similar thing happen to me. If you read my signature, you can see that last January I had a blip the showed a rise in my PSA to .094. I repeated the test in February and it came back as <.01. I hope yours is also a blip.

I plan on getting retested in a few weeks to see if this was indeed a "blip", which I am really hoping it was. Seeing that result was like a kick in the head, I think it hit me harder that the original PCa diagnosis. I guess I'd just gotten my hopes up too high after several years of undetectables.

I'll keep you updated on the nest tests results. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me!
