So, the saga continues.
Husband was in the hospital for 5 days because of a C diff infection that developed due to prolonged antibiotic use for a UTI caused by the catheter inserted for Da Vinci Surgery. While in the hospital, he had a complex migraine, which presents like a stroke. He had a CT scan and the neurologist found that he has a brain aneurism. Went to the urologist a few days ago for the monthly Fermagon injection. Husband told him he was having difficulty emptying his bladder. Doc looked inside to see what was going on and found that scar tissue and calcification are blocking enough of the bladder collar that he could not insert the camera into the bladder. Needless to say, we will be spending the next several weeks in and out of dr offices and hospitals for numerous preocedures.
Questions -
1. Anybody else have a C diff infection? If so, did it reoccur? He was told there is a 30-40% chance that it would have to be retreated. He started experiencing nausea and diarrhea this afternoon, so I am afraid it is still with him.
2. Has anyone had to have bladder collar scar tissue removed more than one time?
On a more positive note, my son is getting married in 3 weeks!
